I am a firefighter go to the site called inciweb and that is a listing of all the fires in America. It also lists that it's still under investigation as to the cause of that fire and I believe you're going to find out because of this one in the next two just north of it are all linked to the San Andreas fault. So therefore this is probably geothermal activity igniting all this.

Fires are usually named for the area of origin. The origin on this fire is Oak Glen Rd and Apple Tree Ln. Hence they called it the Apple Fire.

The fine for not doing fire abatement...raking your property...is not worth it. A very large majority of people comply with the abatement so there is less chance of losing their home and possibly their lives. It makes the firefighters jobs a little easier is you do abatement too. But then again, I don't expect people who don't live with this kind of danger to understand that. And for others it's a way of life.

The fire started on the San Andreas fault line the same time 2 more fires on fault line near San Luis Obispo and East of Eureka. All of these within couple hours on major fault lines. Pressure is building on Californias fault lines.
