I give a lot of grace to the people who managed Season 7. Sherman-Pallidino kinda wrapped up Season 6 with a middle finger to the CW. And the executive producer of Season 7 actually wrote 12 of the 22 episodes without having seen a single episode prior to getting the job.
I 100% agree. The issues that really began to bring the show and the characters down manifested during season 6. Season 7 was by no means perfect and it certainly had its share of questionable storylines but they were trying to fix it. I didn't know that the season 7 show runner had not been involved with the show previously. That's an interesting tidbit to learn so many years after the show ended.
@@shaliekk Yea, long-story-short, Amy Sherman-Pallidino wanted a contract that would allow her to do Season 7 of Gilmore Girls and then start a show after that. Despite GG being their CW’s biggest show at the time, the CW didn’t sign that contract. So she basically derailed the entire story in the last few episodes of Season 6 in retaliation.
I hope you watch Year in Life as to me it is the perfect wrap up of all the stories, it's so special. I know not everyone likes it but as a hyper obsessed fan since the 90s to see everyone come back was magical and I love the story ❤
Yeah, but I also understand why neither Paris nor Luke remembered each other. Seeing someone once, briefly, years prior, dressed entirely differently and in a vastly different context, it makes sense they had no idea they'd met before.
I've seen people argue that Emily doesn't change, but, in my opinion, she certainly has a redeeming moment towards the end of the show. They don't discuss Lorelei's childhood and no one apologizes, obviously, but Emily clearly shows that she's more willing to accept Lorelei's choices. I don't know why people don't want to grant her that.
Yes, you'd think Rory would try to work at the local paper or one from a neighboring town (we know she isn't far from Hartford by bus). I always felt it was a missed opportunity that Lorelai never got Rachel and Rory together to talk about journalism when Rachel was with Luke.
Rory is highly irony-impaired considering she says she's on her own while mooching off her rich grandparents. Now, we get to see more of her wasting her life with Logan and his loser, fellow trust fund baby friends. I'm glad she got a ton more public service. That said, I think it would've been awesome for her to get a month in jail on top of that. Richard and Emily just bit off more than they can chew by coddling Rory, and they don't even know it yet.
I understand Lorelai's POV but I think she is being too harsh. Rory isn't going to admit she was wrong with the way her mom is acting. Like, imo the best thing she can do is be supportive of her kid and try to hype her back up and talk with her. Not shut her out.
Love the Tier List! I'd just move Luke to GOATED and Emily and Rory to TRASH. And Paris could be lower. As for shows, I'd love Desperate Housewives reaction. Also suggestion: Marvelous Mrs Maisel (same authors as Gilmore Girls) and Nobody Wants This (Dave!!!)
Why would Lorelai pay for her ring, Kirk? She's the one who's always broke. Kirk sounds like he's in _The Producers._ Kirk is just jealous that no one wants to propose to him.
Sort of-but I don’t remember if they called it that. There was a 6-ish week break between ep 10 & 11 around Christmas, and the story line time skip more or less reflected that.
45:14 Liz wasn't mom of the year, but Jess was old enough to make his own decisions and he chose to be a surly loser. And she didn't control Jess and make him a jerk dropout, that was all him.
It sounded to me in previous episodes that she was involved with guys who were pretty terrible and she was also neglectful. Yes, he is in control of himself and I'm no Jess apologist, but I do see how she messed him up a lot. All the parents on here seem to do that.

Wait really? Holy shit! That explains a lot… 🤯

It's worth seeing once whether you end up liking it or not. You can always headcanon it out of existence if you don't like it.
He has mentioned that he will be watching it.
I like it in the context of it happening directly after season 7, not as keen on it with the 10 year gap
Paris met Luke when she was looking for some dirt to smear Stars Hollow with for the Chilton paper. She made a scene in his diner.

Rory in the first episode of the show wasn’t go to chilton because Dean spoke one word to her
And she was also 15 then
@@myidiocyatmyfinest yeah she hasn’t matured
Excellent point
We're not supposed to like Emily, she's the villain. She's still the best character, I'll die on that hill.
1:23:22 SPOT ON. Had me laughing-but-also-not because of how true that is!
EDIT: Your reaction to the courtroom scene was super satisfying also! XD
1:25:05 girl you're living with your grandparents
Yeah it's like later on, when
SPOILER

Rory judges Logan for living off a trust fund when she's also living off his trust fund
Richard's lucky he isn't cooling his heels in a cell right now on a charge of contempt of court.

Wearing my Luke's Diner sweatshirt for S6Ep1 .... 🎉
Yay! I am early! Look forward to this every week 🥰
Zima is like Smirnoff Ice.
Rory’s turning 21 in season 6
so 300 hrs in 6 months its 12.5 hr a week, that's more than enough time to have a part-time job and do the community service and have time left over
Christopher Atkins was in _The Blue Lagoon_ with Brooke Shields, I believe.
1:13:51 "Rats Tushie Party of One" is a line I use all the time 😂 sad it was cut
I'm really enjoying your reactions. I've been looking forward to you watching the last seasons. You'll be baffled when you watch the last season😂
After Season 7, you must watch "A year in a life" really puts a pin on everything.
1:36:10 That moment was so satisfying
Rory is 21 for most of this season. She turned 20 in the previous season
I live for your comparison of Jackson with Dawson 😂😂😂😂 we ALL hate them both, we can agree on that
Honestly who let them wander around 😭
ooh yes!! react to Desperate Housewives!! I prefer that one over Sex and The City
Season 6 personally is my favourite!
After the season 7 you must react to the revival ❤

Lorelei shooing people from the gazebo was just like Emily’s behavior. I hated that.

Queen Emily falling down

"Of excellent character." Hmm.
I don't think they had mid-season finales.

Once you finish GG you should immediately start Parenthood. I
