Some people definitely died, since Perfect Chaos suddenly attacked out of nowhere and flooded the city quickly, but a fair amount of people survived, otherwise there wouldn't be those people cheering in the background when Sonic was turning Super Sonic. Tails says "All's well that ends well," but that wasn't in the original Japanese script, only in the dub, so that's not accurate either. So yeah, Chaos flattened the city, but a lot of people did survive and make it out somehow, and in Sonic X, we saw people rebuilding Station Square after the Perfect Chaos attack (of course, Sonic X is not entirely canon I believe, so that could be taken with a grain of salt).

Pretty much every Sonic soundtrack is amazing. The later games also did awesome things with altering the track based on what you do. Like how in Riders Zero Gravity the soundtrack transitions to a more exciting version as you release the gravity boost which creates a really fun effect while putting allot of force behind what you're doing. Another example is the games that use Boost mechanic, where as you speed super fast the pitch of the track alters and certain elements of the song are lowered presumably to give you an effect of running faster than sound.
When E-102 mentioned “Rescuing friends” even though he’s DESTROYING the E-Series, I think he was referring to the Animals built inside them because we all know that Eggman uses animals to power his machines
I played this game on the game cube when I was like 7. And watching this video still brings me memories of the late 90’s even though I never grew up during that time.
So here we have Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast. It was a launch title for the dreamcast and sonic's first and one of best ventures into 3D till Sonic Unleashed came out. The game does show it's age with it's models and especially animation during cutscenes but the gameplay remains solid to this day. This version is generally considered to be the best way to experience Sonic Adventure, while it has lower framerate and the models are simplier the controls work better and there are allot less glitches than in various ports of DX. The game also surprisingly has solid camera for it's day it's quite bossy where it wants to be but the position it defaults to is generally where you'd want it to be anyway. The game offers 6 different characters to play us each with vastly different moveset, speed and stages. Sonic has the longest stages with the simple objective of getting through quick, Tails generally has to race with Sonic which is hilarious once you find you can just jump off at some spots and skip half the stage, Knuckes has to play treasure hunt which is allot of fun (in this game they screwed it up in the sequel), Amy has to run away form a robot ala Nemesis or T-rex from Dino Crisis, Gamma has a lock on laser and has to shot down things to make more time (also has the best story) and Big the cat should have never existed. Most of them are very fun and the different moves let you exploit stage design in completely different ways, which is heavily encouraged by the various secondary objectives you get upon replaying stages. All in all the game's very easy to recommend and highly enjoyable to this day, except for Big the cat, I wanna strangle him with his fishing rod and fry froggy in the laser blast from the egg carrier.
@@nikodem123asdf spamming the boost button until you win in every stage and budget god of war, yeah sonic unleashed totally best 3d game. except its not
Meu primeiro jogo de Dreamcast… Eu fiquei fascinado com os gráficos 3D. Nunca tinha visto algo assim num jogo do Sonic. Horas e horas de jogatina!! Que nostalgia ❤❤
Ah, yes, Sonic Adventure. Nostalgia. That was the first major Sonic game I ever played, and it still remains one of my favorites of the series. I miss when Sega and Sonic was like this. I never could reach the end in the original due to me having no memory card, but at least I did that in the DX remake on Gamecube.
Every story ranked (my opinion) 7. Big (no explanation) 6. Super sonic (the boss sucks but it's only 10 minutes in total) 5. Tails (Love tails but his story is way to easy) 4. Gamma (Short and easy but really enjoyed my time) 3. Amy (Same thing as Gamma) 2. Sonic (Love most of the levels but lost world is straight up one of my least favorite sonic levels) 1. Knuckles (Short and sweet and loved playing as knuckles a lot)
i'm turning 30 this year and think of this game at least once every weeks of my life. i just remember the feeling of it : playing on a shitty dreamcast at home all alone while all my friends were crazy about playstation or gamecube. None could understand the hype i felt, even now haha. I lived in a low rent housing with my mom in the south of France, the CD was so scratched i remember. so everytime the game launched correctly i was so happy. I tripped on this game all days and loved it so much. when i think of it now, the game was so experimental for its time in a sense haha : so much differents sets, transition, the blue alien thing, the mystic vibes around the emeralds, the ost, the voices of the character (the way the fairy explains things to you, so cool), the characters stories crossing. It was just so messy but absolutely perfect. I remember particulary the part in the casinopolis stage when you failed at the flipper machine and kind of going in, like if you were in a psychedelic trip aaaah (not appears in this video btw 😞). It was around 2003, i was a kid just feeling kid things !
This summer I played Colors, Unleashed, Forces and the fangame Omens and after that, I found out one thing: I love Sonic games and I want to play all of them lol
This is such a nostalgia for me, it’s the first game I ever played in my life, I had probably 4 years old playing in my uncles Dreamcast in my grandmothers house. Amazing 😉
Sheshh talk about nostalgia i remember being a kid on my Dreamcast this was my favorite game and i remember my disc was so scratched i took it to get coated and was so happy when i played it again .... I don't even remember what happened to my Sega and game but this is by far my favorite game ever
"The secret password to open the door is EGGMAN." Eggman may be a genius, but having a password which is that easy to guess is not a mark of intelligence.
I loved Sonic Adventure 1 which I played after Sonic Adventure 2. There was such a cutsie, warm feeling about it. The graphics and expressions were a bit strange in SA1, but the atmosphere and warmth of the level design and artwork was special and nostalgic.
I know everyone has already said this, but god this game really needs a full remake. While I definitely enjoyed this game, I have to admit that most of the game aged like milk in the sahara desert. It really needs new voice acting, animations, graphics, and some major tweaks to the camera system. In my opinion, the physics engine was the one thing that has aged pretty well, so I don't think it should be changed too much.
@@chaozsheep Sonic Rush series and the Sonic games after it required to press a button when the meter is full to go that fast while some others before required to just go foward for some time and there you go .
@@Vrabsher_-Supreme_Perhinther- mmh, i don't know... you can't beat eggmanland, egg utopia, dead line, pirates island, asteroid coaster, planet wisp only pressing the boost button. And what is the problem with boost? As long as there is a good designed level that takes advantage of the boost and it's not a straight line, then it's fine.
When Amy played that wack-a-mole-like game, hitting Eggman gained you points and hitting Sonic cost you points. But if Eggman designed that game himself, you would think that he would have made it the other way around, right?
I got this game with the Dreamcast on Christmas Eve when I was a kid, around 6 years old or so. This marked my childhood, it was so ahead of it's time. The story, the scenarios, the music, the chaos, the fact that you could play with all the characters and they were all connected and had their version of the story, everything. It was iconic. I recently played the Sonic Adventure 2 that came out in early 00's and although it had some improvements comparing to this one, I still didn't find it as iconic, I don't know why. I wish I could play Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast for the first time again. Man, what a feeling...
Some of the lines from the same scenes were different across stories, despite having similar-- or the same-- animations; perhaps, each story is shown how its character of focus remembers it. For example, in Sonic's story, Tails said that "...the fastest way is by train", while Tails, in his story, said, "...we'll get there in no time".
I noticed that with the scene where Amy protects Gamma, in Sonic's POV he says "you have your reasons," but in Tails's POV *he's* the one talking, and he says, "you have your reasons, I guess."
I'd always assumed Sonic Adventure 1 was a PS2 era game, but was astonished to learn it came out the same year as Ocarina of Time, Banjo Kazooie, and Crash Bandicoot 2. This game was miles ahead of all of them in production values.

I just cant 🥺 i have finished this game when i was a kid, i would do everything to go back in my childhood days just to play this game again without any worries about the world, this made me cry for a bit, thanks for posting and playing this game for us.
I remember playing this on my Dreamcast as a kid growing up in the early 00's and I remember in the first battle, my controller would always vibrate every time Chaos jumped. Scared the crap out of me at the time!
Amazing console. I have one. Sadly for SEGA it was too little too late. But what an amazing piece of hardware and library of games to go out with.
54:50 , knuckles, clearly seeing the chaos emeralds
55:00 , knuckles : "That's a Chaos Emerald!"
Knuckles thought the green emerald in Sonic's hand was a piece of the Master Emerald, after that scene he realised they are chaos emeralds
I will never tire of this game's wonderful music!
They should remaster this game for the Xbox Series X, Ps5 and Switch along with the sequel.
You mean remake
@@Pytatoon Maybe
nope it's need a remake, the graphic is ugly and there a lot of glitches too
they should remake the games in a dual pack with the graphic style of sonic forces
@@nicholaskroeplin81 sonic forces sucks Imao
This is my personal favourite intro out of the whole sonic franchise.
@@RegularGuy101 you msipelled you there bud
@@RegularGuy101 Uh, you spelled point wrong there.
When E-102 mentioned “Rescuing friends” even though he’s DESTROYING the E-Series, I think he was referring to the Animals built inside them because we all know that Eggman uses animals to power his machines
This game and Super Mario 64 are the best
Agreed
I love Sonic Adventure
Well, someone’s nostalgic.
Agreed 💯
Well, I like Sonic 3 and Sonic Generations more
I love that Eggman and Chaos are the only two whom you don't get to play as or follow their stories.
I played this game on the game cube when I was like 7. And watching this video still brings me memories of the late 90’s even though I never grew up during that time.
Hmmm maybe we are the same age, how old are you ?
@Sync Studios that's called typing a really long comment on your hone without autocorrect
One of the best ventures into 3D till Sonic Adventure 2 came out. Adventure 2 is one of the best ventures into 3D till Sonic Unleashed.
Big is best character in the series u r just a hater
Unleashed is no fucking way better
@@nikodem123asdf spamming the boost button until you win in every stage and budget god of war, yeah sonic unleashed totally best 3d game. except its not
My only memories of this game as a child was getting motion sickness and throwing up - good times.
GOD, I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT GOT SICK AFTER PLAYING! Some stages were really wonky and the bright colours didn't help at all
Let me see. I think Sky Chase, Sky Deck, and Final Egg made you have an anxiety attack and made you throw up.
Every story ranked (my opinion)
7. Big (no explanation)
6. Super sonic (the boss sucks but it's only 10 minutes in total)
5. Tails (Love tails but his story is way to easy)
4. Gamma (Short and easy but really enjoyed my time)
3. Amy (Same thing as Gamma)
2. Sonic (Love most of the levels but lost world is straight up one of my least favorite sonic levels)
1. Knuckles (Short and sweet and loved playing as knuckles a lot)
God bless you for posting this video
i'm turning 30 this year and think of this game at least once every weeks of my life. i just remember the feeling of it : playing on a shitty dreamcast at home all alone while all my friends were crazy about playstation or gamecube.
This brings back so much nostalgia 🥲
This summer I played Colors, Unleashed, Forces and the fangame Omens and after that, I found out one thing:
I love Sonic games and I want to play all of them lol
GOOD
That Dreamcast opening hit me hard
Same!!!!!!
Que nostalgia esse jogo, gostaria muito que nos tempos de hoje tivesse um parecido, jogava quando criança e era magnífico ❤️💕
This is such a nostalgia for me, it’s the first game I ever played in my life, I had probably 4 years old playing in my uncles Dreamcast in my grandmothers house. Amazing 😉
"He [Sonic] always seems to get in my way!" He's just doing his job, Eggman.
the air blowing gave me nostalgia
Sheshh talk about nostalgia i remember being a kid on my Dreamcast this was my favorite game and i remember my disc was so scratched i took it to get coated and was so happy when i played it again .... I don't even remember what happened to my Sega and game but this is by far my favorite game ever

Omg this is nostalgia 😭😍😍 I am so happy I typed this in. I was like 5 when it came out and played it all the time with my older brother❤️

"The secret password to open the door is EGGMAN." Eggman may be a genius, but having a password which is that easy to guess is not a mark of intelligence.

Dude... Dreamcast was goated. Takes me back to my childhood ❤️
How have I never heard of this game. The world design is insane
Finished this game few times as a kid and enjoyed every minute, I wish nowadays could Sega make games like this
I loved Sonic Adventure 1 which I played after Sonic Adventure 2. There was such a cutsie, warm feeling about it. The graphics and expressions were a bit strange in SA1, but the atmosphere and warmth of the level design and artwork was special and nostalgic.
The thing Big went into to get the lure power-up...it looks like some kind of runoff drainage system.
Big The Cat was always the Last story I finish 😆
The game's good and all but the cutscenes are pure meme machhine. On a serious note, the adventures entries deserve a remake to make its justice
While the cutscenes didn't age well, I still love this game a lot
Nothing ages well with the society we have now
I know everyone has already said this, but god this game really needs a full remake.
Sonic adventure DX is your answer
This is like one of the only games where sonic is fast as fuck. I wish they made more sonic games like this.
Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Rush and Sonic Advance 2: "We are a joke to you?"
@@chaozsheep They said one of the only, not just the only one
@@Breakaway-ic5gj But most Sonic games are fast.
When Amy played that wack-a-mole-like game, hitting Eggman gained you points and hitting Sonic cost you points. But if Eggman designed that game himself, you would think that he would have made it the other way around, right?
For those who don't know, Big The Cat is voiced by none other than John St. John, the voice of Duke Nukem. I couldn't believe it either.
What an eccentric name
He voiced so many characters, look it up
Wait what nani
I still love this boot up, it gives me chills. 0:00
I love having this video playing in the background while I’m working!
1. For the nostalgia and 2. Great game!
I’m now a stressed out 25 year old but I replay this game in some form prolly once a year cos for whatever reason it puts my mind at peace
an really awsome game! Back on my 10's
I'd always assumed Sonic Adventure 1 was a PS2 era game, but was astonished to learn it came out the same year as Ocarina of Time, Banjo Kazooie, and Crash Bandicoot 2. This game was miles ahead of all of them in production values.
Not to be a nerd here, but Crash 2 released in 1997. You might be looking for this -> [Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped].
