- The Quebec government says it will spend $870 million to replace the decaying roof of Montreal's Olympic Stadium, but some sports economists say they're skeptical of the government's case.

My entire adult life has been plagued by this monstrosity's tax bill - such horrid design and to have entwined the stadium so completely in the rest of the local infrastructure so as to make it impossible to demolish...
Already billions spent on this - ..... and Edmonton built a stadium for 800 million - BUILT - no more costs - no budget overruns - no mafia making insane profits on the construction

I hope that the whole rooftop and the stadium interior renovations allow the MLB to add an expansion team for Montreal.
Meanwhile, Rogers Centre looks great with the new renovations and actually hosts a MLB team
This stadium is cursed. It cost a fortune to build, and now no one uses it but it's still going to end up costing another billion just to keep it operating. And you know it won't be the last time that happens.
Renovate the inside also and bring back the “Expos”

How to launder 870M:
I think the whole thing should be torn down even if it's expensive. Clean slate move on. However, if they must keep it up, why not renovate the whole thing inside like they are doing at the Rogers Centre in Toronto?
