You have no idea how far ahead of the game you are brother. I spent my last 10 years of my life, West Point and active duty, involved with the Army and I’m just now getting out at 28. It has been a struggle bus for me, but your videos give me hope and inspiration. Made it to the final round of interviews with Apple (didn’t land), still have the final round of interviews with BofA, and networked with a pretty significant leader at BCG where his referral affords me the opportunity to get an interview. Your videos are providing me with the insight I need to hopefully make all these things happen. Gratitude and presence brother! Keep going!
Yea seriously. He’s already a high performer at his age, earning six figures. If he chooses to, he can grind at this level for 10 more years and retire comfortably. But I’ve seen a lot of ppl like him burn out, constantly feeling unfulfilled and jaded.
Appreciate you brother! Thanks for taking the time to write this comment. It really means a lot. I can tell from your attitude that you will be very successful - only a matter of time. More to come on my end - as always, thank you for the support!
Just got my first job at restaurant brands international LDP program, your videos were all I used for my case interview and did really well. Thank you so much!!!! Glad your back
Good insights, one thing people need to know is your entire life is going be non-stop learning. Nothing is set for sure, do not try to control the things you cannot. Live in the present more.
Normal thoughts for an excellent person in their 20s. Thanks for sharing. I think your thoughts, with continued smart work, will lead into a powerful and fulfilling 30s. Good luck.
Love how you're being vulnerable and sharing actual personal struggles. Going through something similar myself at 23 but this gives perspectives - thanks man and good luck with 2025!! We'll smash it
Hi Matt I am Michael a Freshmen from Germany who is starting to persue a career in Consulting. U helped me a lot on my way to my first internships and in general with live lesson videos. Thank you very much.
Hi Matt! I hope you and your family are doing well. It's wonderful that you are present for them; that’s a huge blessing. I also appreciate your reminder that life doesn’t always go as planned, but we can find balance and focus on what we can control. Thank you for sharing this. It’s super helpful
Happy new year Matt! I don't usually comment but I've been super appreciative of all the videos you've created consistently over the past year :)) I also resonate a lot with "making the decision right" and I hope to pursue this mindset in 2025! One thing I hope to accomplish this year is getting promoted to consultant
Totally agree with you that a job prestigiousness won't make you happy. At the end of the day, every job is just a job, not necessarily your life purpose.
Happy New Year, Matt! 🎉 Your reflections on life's unpredictability, had truly resonated with me. I had envisioned myself pursuing a master's degree by now, diligently studying in a hostel room. However, life took an unexpected turn, leading me to explore a different career path, and I find myself taking a gap year to realign my goals. Your insights have reinforced my belief that it's okay for plans to change and that embracing new directions can lead to fulfilling opportunities. Here's to hoping that all our dreams and aspirations come to fruition this year.❤
Your comments about your job not giving fulfillment and feeling lost really resonate with me. I was just accepted to a some great MBA programs in R1 and I should be over the moon, but can't help but feel I'm chasing after something that I'm not going to find by doing the rat race in consulting like I plan to.
Wow ! kind of exactly in the same boat here... i got into an m.a program in my country's equivalent to, harvard, and im also planning to go to consulting after. but boy ! i didnt expect the loneliness and other unexpected underwhelming aspect of grad school 😂. to respond to your concerns, what i found out lately is that, i had slowly found meaning in, not just in career and personal relationships, but with finding out my (previously surpressed) personality.. my wants and passion in other hobbies like music. now, in addition to aspiring to be a management consultant, or in ib, im also looking forward to start a cover band on the side ! if youre religious, look forward to be closer to the almighty, or start a family to have that warmth and additional sense of purpose (in my opinion) the rat race might still be there, but things such as hobbies, family, or spirituality might keep you looking forward ahead.. also, some people's goals might change as they age, some might prefer stability and work-life balance than keep climbing the corporate ladder, the choice is ours to make. all the best !
I’m feeling this! We think at this age / accomplishment we will have this ah ha moment. I’m helping my sister with her uni application and it’s giving me so much perspective!
Hi from chicago. I just turned 28 today and im in the same boat. For me though, I just always feel so alone. Ive spent my entire life around "loved" ones just to feel alone. No one around me values what i value so i find it hard when makinf decisions. I am goal oriented but not ambitious if that makes sense. Best advice i can give anyone right now is to set small goals that will help you in all aspecfs of your health. That means physical emotional/ mental and social. This year im trying to learn to love life again as me. I used to be an avid book reader so my goal is to read 15 books bythe end of the year. Continue to work out 4 days a week. Ibjoined a meetup group for 20-30 somethings. If life ended tolorrow i just want to be able to say i lived as me. You cant compare yourself everyone has their own problems and struggles. Dont let the media fool you. I appreciate how open and honest you are. I wish you love success healing and growth 🫰🏾🫰🏾🫰🏾
Randomly thought about you and that you had not posted in a while! Great to see you posted here again Matt. Wish you all the best as always! You’ve really grown the channel a lot - well done man!
Welcome back Matt and Happy New Year! Hope everything's good on your end. Agree on how switching to a more prestige job does not help fulfill the life (at least not everything). Guess one of my 2025 goals is to find out what I am looking for to achieve/fulfill from a job so that I don't just ended up chasing a higher hanging fruit. Sharing a recent quote I heard: Grass is greener where you water it. Let's keep it going!!
Happy new year Matt, 🎉🎉 you are so right, we'll always have that feeling of not been able to figure out everything in life and it's ok. We need to find a middle ground... Thank you for sharing... Love from India
You've got plenty of things figured out Matt!! Hope you get to enjoy the present moment. It goes by really quickly. From a 32-year-old who finally started figuring things out :)
'Quality over quantity, focus on friends who share value rather than just interests, appreciate the presence.' Matt, you are gonna do just great man! Other than the glasses, your sweater also look really nice btw! Hope the difficult part in life is getting better soon! Lmk if you wanna chat anytime!
happy new year matt! good to see you back with great insights again as usual! just curious - how many fans did you grow in 2024? i started to watch you mid of 2024 and didnt realise you already had almost 70k followers, as a fan also felt very good!
As a high achiever how do set your “own” goals? I struggle with knowing whether they’re good enough?! It’s easier to aspire towards someone else’s goal
Hi Matt, thanks for sharing and being vulnerable. When it comes to your TH-cam channel, what's your primary drive for "getting to the next level"? What do you find most fulfilling about it?
Hey Matt someone who is a gen x, it’s ok not to have created a family by 26. Life experience in your 20s should be the way to go. Great to see the channel picking up a lot of subs. Have a great 2025 and you are awesome mate
In your regards to the statement that “ a job never being enough to fill you”, I disagree. If you truly love your job then it will fulfill you. I believe the reason you feel this way is because you work primarily in finance because it is prestigious and makes a lot of money. I do not blame you as that’s probably why 99% of people work in finance but if you pursued something you actually loved I doubt you would be feeling not good within your career. For a better understanding please research Rene Girard’s work on Mimetism.
Would you be willing to share all your goals so far since you started? without removing any too? It would be interesting to see how your views on goals have evolved. :)

If you’re behind. I’m in an abyss. It’s a long battle
You're not behind and you have what it takes to get out. We're all gonna make it brother.
The goat baby
💪appreciate you brother
I want to have more fun this year. Do things I’ve not done before and go to new places.

yup that too many goals touched hard. Gotta re-evaluate
facts - too many ideas + things to do
