Richard Peaslee (1930 - 2016)
Arrows of Time for Solo Trombone and Band was composed in 1993 for Joseph Alessi and the United States Army Band.
With Joe Alessi and the younger players coming up like Peter Steiner, I feel like the level of artistry is pushing the composers to write increasingly challenging music for trombone. Years ago, the feeling may have been, “You can’t play that on a trombone!”
All I can say as a listener is, “Bring it!”
