I don't understand the college admissions scandal being a scandal! Rich ppl have always done whatever they could to get their kids in the best schools. They've been "donating" libraries and equipment since forever!
Sure but this went about 10,000 steps past 'here's a donation, wink wink, nudge, nudge. By the way, isn't my grandkid a great prospect for the school'. They were straight up bribing officials to change test scores, paying coaches to lie about made up athletic achievements, falsifying documents and records, etc. Not to mention they didn't donate directly to the school, they funnelled the money through a made up charity, essentially getting a tax break on their fraud and keeping it hidden. It's why a bunch of them got hit with money laundering charges as well.
It wasn't "donation" this time. It was straight-up money laundering, false bank accounts, tax breaks for themselves, changing their kids' test scores, and falsifying documents. That is why it was very different than "donating" some bullshit to a collage.
Tbh I feel the school should be held more accountable since it's the school who actually accepts and takes the bribe and not the person suggesting. The person suggesting the bribe only does whatever it takes to get their kid into school. If more people had that money they would do it too. You can tell this entire list is just a compilation of randomly selected videos from other lists. Especially the one with Shane Gillis; because it doesn’t mention that he actually went on to host SNL in season 49.

A lot of these scandals to me were no big deal. We ban you from such and such for life because you sucked and did not play nice with the other actors. We found the exact details why somebody was replaced is not really that big of a deal. I would demand my money or some type of compensation.
