This looks sick and I concur with your thoughts. I also hope that the game design does something that forces it to not be a chaotic hell when you’re in a public lobby.
Totally agree. It’s hard to tell how important the teamwork is in terms of being baked into the game. I’m worried that it might be a free for all like Squad once randoms are introduced. But with a group of vetted people on a dedicated server, it looks amazing.
Every tactical shooter that gets announced claims it's gonna be the one to save the genre and showcases some cool tech and then development slows to a crawl and AI either is braindead or kill bots. It's hard to stay enthusiastic after being burned by so many games that have totally failed to deliver or have been abandoned (hi Ground Branch devs). It's like the zombie survival craze of the early 2010s where every game was gonna be THE zombie survival game and none of them were.
This is a good piece. Far more thought and effort than most people put into a video like this. I'm definitely excited for the game, or at the very least, what ideas it's going to bring that we haven't seen in the MilSim space yet. I will say, though, as interesting as a one-life mechanic would be, it'll be hard to keep servers full. Not many people are going to hang out for the next match if they get popped early on. I think wave spawning would be an interesting way around that. A combination of waiting for a threshold of dead players, a time limit, and objective clearance could offer an interesting game flow.
My only beef with these kinds of games is they all look the same. Everything in UE looks identical, and they seem like the same game with different UI.
I mean at the end of the day, it’s a modern military-themed first person shooter, so there’s only so much you can do to differentiate between games. If your game is trying to be rooted in realism, it’s only natural that it will be visually similar to other games which are trying to be rooted in realism. It looks like the ATAK is going to have a lot of realistic functionality, though, so I’m hoping that helps it stand out from other games with subpar interfaces.
@Deathscreens I had been excited by a few projects but have been disappointed by most. That said, my standard is Arma 3 and well... that's a big bar to beat (despite the funky physics)
We need to stop hyping up games until they're out.

Its PvP not PvE
Tactical shooters don’t even need Saving lol. the games we have now are great, and they are the best part of the FPS genre too imo.
@@4Pickledonions We dont have many games in general let alone decent FPSs
@4Pickledonions which ones are the good ones? I've tried most of them and they're in rough shape
@@tzoninghard2425 even worse

Completely agree, and thanks! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
What’s wrong with tactical milsim games?
stagnation
I hope they release it on consoles
That would be nice. I’m not sure if they have plans for that yet.
get a pc
Most people don't realize how hard it is to release on consoles. The biggest issue being getting through certifications.
@@korypostmathe biggest issue is how much time it takes to port it yourself, or how much it costs to hire a porting house

The difference is pretty much avoiding things that made people quit squad like IOC.
@@Deathscreens This is true. The in game interfaces look dope, instead of just popping a box up on your screen.
Idk kinda done with the operator slop.
Please …. For the sake of performance… please make this in UE4 not 5
I'm really excited about this project!! I cannot wait to get first hand experience.
100%. I haven’t actually been excited for a game in a while, but this one makes me optimistic.

Solid video, stoked on this game
Same, dude, and thanks! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
