Any diode will do as long as it can carry the max current your short killer can output. For reverse polarity protection lang purpose ng diode na nilagay ni boss sa diy nyang short killer

Yun po yung use ng diode to prevent reverse polarity when applying short killer sa board na inaayos mo. You can still remove it just be sure when you apply yung short killer sa target board eh tama ang polarity ng short killer versus sa repaired board!
