Just wanted to say thank you. I saw this video and started studying on Tuesday. Listened to your audio with the pdf 3 times, took both the open assessments until I could make 95% multiple times..and today (Thursday), I passed the test on the first try.
I cannot thank you enough! I've been reading the scrum guide daily, listening to you read it during my daily walks and taking practice tests! This has been so helpful!
Bilal, you are absolutely right. While humbling.. I can definitely say I'm getting used to being in front of the camera! I love that you called me on this. I will work to do better!
Thanks for sharing the tips and also your openness to share your failure with us. Out of sheer nervousness I always forget the simplest basics during exams and such videos help me to become more focused again.
Thanks Mezu! I try to be as real as possible because without transparency we can't inspect and adapt. As we all know failure brings a ton of transparency lol. Good luck on your exam if your taking it please keep me updated. Also please share with others anything you learn that may help in a comment if you find something that helped you! Keep on learning!
@@AgileGamesWithJames I did it on Sunday! Not a 100% result, but I never expected that. Since English is not my mother tongue, I was rightly a little worried. I was not able to copy the text for translation. (Even so SCRUM Org specifically points this out.) You warned about it, but I was surprised how many topics came up that were not mentioned in the guide (user stories, IT development, ...). So, Thank you again. Your video made me feel well prepared. And as the result says, I was.
Hi All, Which of the practice tests are like-to-like for PSM 1 exam from scrum.org. I am giving every exam available across the internet but still I am confuse which one is more likely with PSM 1 exam.
Hi Tom, I am sorry for my late response, I do not know of any especially since the new scrum guide came out. If you or anyone else have this question, my best advice would be to go to www.scrum.org/ click on "open assessments" and do the open assessments there. I recommend this because as we(the community and scrum.org) learn more about how to implement scrum, that will reflect on changes to the exam, material, and the open assessments, so the best way is always to study using these open assessments. Especially if you are going to take the scrum.org exam.
Thanks for Valuable info.. I cleared today PSM I with 93% in 1st attempt.. I followed your tips and tricks which really helped. Thanks My take away, Scrum guide and Open assessment was very helpful.
Thanks so much for the tips James, it's made studying easier. I'm planning to take the CSM test in January; would you recommend that or the PSM? It gets confusing if you know what I mean. Please I will appreciate your feedback. Thanks
Hi Lushed, It is confusing but I have learned from great people from both orgs. I have not taken the exam on on the CSM side or the classes so I cannot comment. Tricia Broderick may know more. www.linkedin.com/in/tricia-broderick/ My mentor on the PSM side is Ravi Verma and if you need training or have questions about the test on the Scrum.org side he would be good to reach out to. www.linkedin.com/in/smoothapps/
@@AgileGamesWithJames This is so kind of you James, thank you. I hope you won’t mind me mentioning your name when I contact them. Once again, thank you
I would look at the companies you are targeting to work for. Check on LinkedIn and see who at the company has what Certs that they value based on experiences. Do you have experience as a Scrum Master?
thanks for the tips! failed my first time and have been studying for nearly 6months. gonna attempt to retake the test later this week. so far, i've been 100%ing the scrum.org assessment and getting over 90% on Lapshin's practice tests. i've been using flashcards, rereading the Scrum Guide and even blogs to really prep myself for the second attempt. any other suggestions? i think my anxiety isn't helping either :(
It sounds like you are on the right track. I would make your lapshin tests 100% or near to be comfortable but the scrum.org tests are the best. Consider this test changes so the longer you take in between taking the exam, the more likely you will see different questions or reworded. If you have studied for 6 months im sure you will do great. just go in with confidence. Let me know how it goes!
Hey lakshmi, if you take one of PSM classes from scrum.org they encourage you to take the test soon after the training by offering you a second attempt if you fail. Again this is if you pay for a scrum.org training by a trainer of theirs.
@@jtiv3170 thank you for the response. Yes, my understanding is the same that if we take training from Scrum.org only then we would have chance of 2nd attempt, if only certification then it would be one attempt only. I wanted to confirm on the same - thank you
No but the open assessments are a good indicator of the kinds of questions you will have on the exam. Passing the opens will give some questions that you know on the exam that can help your score but I would always recommend getting more context. Let me know how you do!
Hello James, how can you please help me. Im also very dyslexic and still haven't been able to past the PSM cert. I have been at this for 2 or more years. Looks like I have issues with Facilitaction, Product Backlog Managment, Stakeholder & Customers. Can you please provided me guidence on how I can pass the test. I really need this for my career path. Im get very furustrated with this. Thank!

Congrats! I'm glad this helped. Do you have any questions after passing or other thoughts that have sparked since you have taken the test?

The PSM II will be next after the PMI-ACP

Hi Amber, the only way I know to take the Scrum.org exams is through the website. Once you complete the exam there you get your answer instantly.
