I was thinking the same thing. I can disguise two fx6s more easily into a sump. They over complicate freshwater in order to overcharge customers. I run two 1000 gallon aquariums, both low tech, with way more plants that actually “autopilot” my aquarium maintenance. I don’t need basement filters that use gravity to be efficient. I use physics and chemistry to operate natural aquariums. That giant paper prefer is stupid and unnecessary. It’s easy to calculate grime build up with density of sponge used. I just created my own algorithm to determine filter maintenance. All you need is a high school level understanding of physics, chemistry, maths, and biology. I don’t use C02 or over complicated systems. I do not fertilize my water column. The only feature here that is awesome is the auto top off. I don’t use RO water or have to remineralize. I know exactly what’s in my water because the county has to disclose all of that info. I also use seachem safe the powder form to take out harmful chemicals from my tap water. I breed fish and shrimp with no problem. Don’t be fooled by all the extra bullshit.
I am getting back into aquascaping after round about 10 years. Last week I found your channel and I just want to thank you!! Glad to have such decent guys like you and Jurijs providing me with all the necessary information but also delivering it in a entertaining way. You have such a cool charisma, simply seeming like guys it feels good to be around with. Right now I use my free time to watch all of your videos :D keep up the great work! And happy new year, stay healthy and happy!
Can’t even imagine having enough money to have professional aquascapers to maintain my tank each week 😂 wow! The filtration systems are insane! They don’t even feed their own fish, they are all automated. Personally I enjoy doing the maintenance myself, and feeding, so it is such a weird concept to have someone else doing it, for me anyway. Beautiful tanks.
With big tanks, comes big responsibility and all clients do feed the fish themselves too with frozen or life food. The fish feeders are just there to guarantee a baseline, feeding small amounts multiple times a day. Having my customers feed the fish, ensures they check on animal health regularly and report to me, in case something happens
With that size of tanks I'd hire someone as well - just too much time needed - time where you can earn money to hire someone like @@JurijsJutjajevs who makes it better anyway ^^
When you work 80 hour weeks highly specialized with lots of responsibility and also have a family, you will start to outsource lots of tasks because your time is spent more effectively at work (or otherwise your line of work might not even be a possibility). Of course most people work less and maybe have hobbies (myself included), but I can see how highly diligent and efficient people outsource it.
Enjoyed the multiple visits with Jurijs. Very insightful video, insane amount of technology thats working in the background to ensure everything is in top notch condition...
The first tank was the most impressive one! It is so nice to see the evolution of business and Jurijs professionalism! I had the chance to meet him several years ago on a Workshop he was even then a professional aquascaper! Wishing all the best!😊 Cheers!😊

haha, I also somehow switched to these guys after watching all the videos by MD and Fish Shop Matt👍 and I agree, it's a wonderful and inspiring channel, another real gem :) I'm really thankful to the content creators MJ and his friend Jurijs 🐟🐟🐟👍
Great video mate! Nice blueprint for getting started with scaping for shops and customers! Love those farlowella catfish! I miss mine! Keep up the great content!
It’s great to see Juris, his aesthetic always holds my attention. Juris is so generous with his knowledge and in my view to just wants everyone to enjoy their aquarium, he has helped me in the past with a particularly tricky shaped aquarium tall and narrow. I’m in Australia.
I would love to know what goes into building the filtration, automatic water refilling and everything else that is used to make each tank's maintenance as easy as possible, and how I could replicate it myself.
Big tanks have automated daily water changes. This requires a a sump with fresh water inlet and a sink for dirty water attached to it. On the clean end of the sump fresh water is added, this causes the old water to overflow on the dirty side. Alternatively dirty water is pumped out on one end and is automatically refilled with fresh water on the other. Just working with timers, pumps and floating valves. On the smaller aquariums RO water is collected ahead of time in the barrel using again timers and sensors to prevent overflowing. Just look at your own system and try to identify the bottle neck and if there is a possibility to eliminate it?
Thank you for a glimpse into the behind the scenes. The tanks are so clean! Is any cleaning of algae from hardscape ever required? And what kind of tools are used to plant and trim in such deep tanks? I have a paper filter roller in my 1300 L system and it is amazing for mechanical filtration
Hardscape is cleaned by the clean up crew: shrimps snails and Otocinclus. Planting was done prior filling with water. You can see how I remove some crypt leafs with special tools
On the last tank they had stainless steel canister filters.. I was told that this type of filter could leak and cause havoc Go with a sump filter. Is leaking common and what you recommend for home use or agree with that statement.
I assume you’re talking about the power outlets above the sump? They don’t have any lids as there are no water splashes. Hope this answers the question
I think it's more fun to maintain your own aquarium than to entrust it to someone else. But it's probably just an aesthetic thing for rich people to have a nice aquarium

Hi ! was wondering what temperature do you keep them at? I have a 2200 liter tank with Altums and Bolbitis, One preferes higher temp, one low. so what’s the compromise?
