    I did not expect to see VI. Took me a while of fiddling to find out. I love your videos!

    This is so fun! Please make an endless supply of these ear training sets.
    I managed to get them but I had to pause and think a bit.

      That's awesome; great job!
      [Thanks for the kind words. I will get back to making more chord progression sets once I finish the interval levels. :) Happy listening!]

      Thank you for your inquiry. I make videos in order of what my students need first, so it might be quite a while until I can get to this, but it is on the to-do list. Thanks for watching :)

    I seem to be getting confused with the ones where the bass note goes down. I did get pretty close with the first one though. (I’m a beginner in chord progression ear training).

      Hi there! (I am not sure what instrument you play/if you are using the RCM syllabus/what your musical background is, etc., so take this as you see fit.) One convenient thing is that if all the chords are in root position (like the guidelines for these examples are), if you know your scale degrees and what the tonic note sounds like, you can relate the intervals between bass notes to sort out what the chords are. For example, if you are in C major and the bass goes from C down a third to A, then down another third to F, it means you are going from I -> vi -> IV. (C -> A -> F)
      There is also a playlist with the chord progression videos if you want to increase the length and number of chords little by little: th-cam.com/play/PLBjX9Vsck-AD1U3fAsRHhFEVBfNiZW6zO.html
      I will be making a video with a few tips on identifying chord progressions eventually, but hopefully this gives you some ideas in the meantime.
      Best of luck with your ear training journey! :)

      @@ClassicalSqueak thanks, I have been working on hearing intervals with a fixed root, so I guess it is similar to hearing scale degrees (at least for this exercise). Even some non diatonic notes. I haven’t used the RCM syllabus, but I guess I’ll have to check it out. Also, the instrument I play is piano.

    im level 6 and im trying to figure out whats a 6 (vi) 😭

    • @MeeraThomas
      @MeeraThomas 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      it's basically the chord based on the 6th degree of the scale. so on a vi triad it would be the 6th degree, the tonic and the 3rd degree. if you hear those three it's going to be your vi or VI chord. it sounds very similar to the IV or iv chord because they both share the 6th degree and tonic notes. however, between those two only the vi has the 3rd degree and only the IV has the 4th degree note. i hope that made sense!

      Oops! Sorry about that - this is one of my early videos back when my students were the only ones watching 😅... I will update the descriptions to add the chords. Thanks for letting me know!
      If ever the chord options are missing but the video is marked with a RCM level, you can also find the guidelines I base it off of in the syllabus: ( rcmusic-kentico-cdn.s3.amazonaws.com/rcm/media/main/about%20us/rcm%20publishing/piano-syllabus-2022-edition.pdf )
