Thanks Steve. Last Fall, 2018 you helped me rebuild my Delta faucet tub/shower and also helped me fix my air conditioner with a new capacitor. Here it is, April Fools, 2019 and I need you again so I can replace my water heater tank. Thanks; your videos are the greatest as you show things other people don't!!!

I just saw an enormous Mills oil fired boiler yesterday, and right next to it was an enormous, decommissioned Richardson and Boynton steam boiler. I've never seen anything like it and boy; it sure was an impressive piece of history. Massive boilers. Big house. I was excited to see the Boynton boiler, it's a monster.

Another great installation. I must say I have had quite the laugh watching this video with the closed captioning turned on. It has changed many words and is absolutely hilarious! Like an episode of bad lip reading. :)

The conversation at 3:53 is great! Her ultimate reply to the possibility of Baby Dog's "cutting loose on the floor", should have been "oh, I'll just rub your nose in it, Steve". ("nose rubbing" is a horrible thing to do, and I do not condone its practice, I despise it; however, to hear Steve's reply would have been one whole helluva lot of fun!)
PS, it would be wonderful to watch Steve mentor an apprentice!

Soap stone, they were very popular back in the day. A lot of old homes in our area have them. The house I grew up in had a nice deep one in the basement. Came in handy washing big stuff.

Lead 'free' fittings heat like cast iron, slower and not as even . Bring the fitting up to near hot with lower flame THEN finish the soldering just as you would for older ' leaded' fitting.

What do you use to check for gas leaks? I always thought soapy water was fine, then I saw a video where the plumber said to use a solution made for checking leaks because water will corrode the pipes.
Funny thing, I bought the stuff, and the instructions say to rinse it off with water when done.
