The difference is much noticable because you've used the RX 6400, a PCIe Gen 4x4 card, and it eventually becomes PCIe 3x4 on the B450 motherboard. Try it with something sensible to pair with the 5600X, like a 6600, a 6650XT, or 7600 and you won't notice that much of a difference because they use PCIe Gen 4x8 and will run at PCIe 3x8 on the B450 motherboard; the difference between PCIe 3x4 and 3x8 is much noticeable.

i have 5600x with 3060ti on b450 motherboard and my pc doesnt underperform at all. May a 2-3 fps difference but u can never notice it . I do have cross-checked my performance with yt videos in which gen4 mb is used and there is hardly a difference. yeah the gen 4 ones have higher fps but again the difference is not noticable

@TechAceTH-cam i would say even with a gpu like gpu like Rtx 4080 there will be not much difference between pcie 3 mobo and pcie 4 just few fps.
Can you explain to me in some simpler words
Just for clarification , RX 6400 and RX 6500xt usually show a lot of performance drop in pcie4.0 to pcie3.0 . for other GPU's , this drop is usually 3-5 fps according to my observations.

Should have mentioned the fact that the major drop will be noticeable on GPUs like 6400 only coz they have 4 pcei lanes only...GPUs with 8 pcei lanes won't have such differences between gen 3 and 4

This is because Rx 6400 has only Pcie 4 with X4 lanes.Check with gpus having pcie 4 x16 lanes like 3060 there will be no difference or maybe like 1-2 fps at max between b450 and b550 motherboard.even gpu like rtx 4080 will also not have any noticable performannce difference between pcie 4 (b550) and pcie 3 (b450) motherboard.this video is just to justify that you are right but you are not.

Bhai kya bol rahe ho tum kya ho gya tumko PCIe 4.0 motherboard pe support hai cpu pe nhi hai 5600g PCIe 3.0 ka support hai. To PCIe 4.0 ka benifit kabhi bhi nhi milega because of cpu. B550 is waste of money. B450 PCIe 3.0 pe hai cpu bhi PCIe 3.0 ka hai to perfect match hai.

If you go with b760 you don't need any bios update it is factory supported 12-13th gen.
