    I am into rytm 2 since just 1 month and was struggling about this, thank you very clear! 1 thing: do you know if the 16 songs I can save are accesible from different projects?

    Thanks for uploading. Not sure what's going on, but the song is stuck on the first line regardless of the blue 'edit' button being lit, unlit red or blue!! Feeling confused....

    Can you record fills in song mode?

    Is this the way to Create a whole Set for an Hour (for an example)?

    • @Ponchy
      @Ponchy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! That combined with potentially using different projects is definitely how you would put together a live set.

    I have a question about the edit song button which on my machine (Analog Rytm MKII) can be lit up with two colors, light blue / white or a darker blue after the function key is held and the edit song button is pressed. I can toggle between the two colors by pressing the edit song button. I noticed that the edit song button has be lit up with the darker blue color for the song to step through the patterns when playing. If the edit song button is lit up with the lighter blue / white color, the pattern, A01 for example, (that which is highlighted) repeats endlessly versus the machine stepping through the different patterns. Please explain the different colors of the edit song button to me and what the function of the edit song button is when it displays light blue / white . Thank you.

      Yeah it basically just means what you mentioned already. The lighter blue just means that song mode isn’t activated versus the darker blue which means that song mode is activated. The reason for this is basically if you are playing live and you wanted to essentially “pause” the song and extend a pattern for the purpose of simply playing a longer pattern or as an emergency-type situation where you needed to edit the song rows or columns so it doesn’t just keep playing.

    Awesome video, thanks! I've been working with my Digitakt for a little bit now and am looking for a way to compose the song parts on the digitakt, but use the song mode from the Rytm. Is it possible to organize the track on the Rytm and then have that control the pattern sequence on the digitakt? I'm still trying to figure out if this is a dumb way to go about it or not lol. In your opinion would it be easier to just record the seperate patterns into a daw and then organize it that way? Sorry if this is confusing, I'm a bit new to this still!

    • @Ponchy
      @Ponchy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can definitely use the song mode on the Rytm to control the Digitakt. I didn’t mention that in the video so I will probably make a follow up vid to show how you can do that.
      In response to your 2nd question, I’d say it depends if you’re recording or playing live. I like to go dawless in a live setting so I don’t have to have a computer with me but as for recording, I do record the patterns into Logic via Overbridge

    This was exactly what i was looking for bro thank you so much, near the end i only had one more question which was ''But how the hell do i hop from one song on bank A to bank B'' and right there, boom you started explaining that hahah.
    Thanks, i have 2 songs per Bank and usually when i perform live i just use the chain function but this way i have (Just like you mentioned) more hands left for the other devices.
    Im using a Nakedboard midi controller, and locked each knob to a effect on a certain parameter which makes song mode now even more powerful because you can just put a lowcut effect on the knob for the kicks, and boom during live show you can just turn it down/up.
    Same goes for delay/reverb etc etc, def worth looking into if you want a cute setup without a mixer available for each channels :) !

      Awesome!! Glad to help and yeah that sounds like an amazing setup for sure.

    Thank you for making this tutorial! Is there way to chain songs for liveset or what your workflow with songs on live performance?

    • @Ponchy
      @Ponchy  ปีที่แล้ว

      No prob! You can’t actually chain songs so you would have to load each one individually and manually. But in all honesty, you can fit quite a few different “songs” into one project if you ordered them by bank, which would equal at least 8 different songs. That’s the way I would look at it if you want to just flow from one song into the next but at some point you could easily switch to another project/song mode and there would just be a short lull in sound unless ideally you have another machine to take over the sound while you switch projects. That’s how I would do it.

    1:56 today is wrote my first song on the rytm and i hit the limit :D had to work around with multipliers

    • @Ponchy
      @Ponchy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! Haha. Yeah the multipliers are definitely necessary in order to conserve space. Always good to test the limits though haha.

    Is there a way to have a "song" loop back to the beginning when it reaches the last row? Or will the song always end at the last row?

    • @Ponchy
      @Ponchy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No but if you double press Stop once it finishes then it will go right back to the first row and you can start it again. I forgot to mention that in the video.

    • @mntbighker
      @mntbighker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ponchy Kinda strange it can't loop. That seems an obvious option. I haven't even messed with song mode yet on mine.

    • @thegrinderman1090
      @thegrinderman1090 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mntbighker If you want it to loop, it might be better to just use pattern chains instead of song mode. If there are mutes you want for certain tracks on certain patterns, you can always copy a pattern to a new slot and switch off the tracks you want muted. This is what I used to do as a makeshift 'song mode' on the Digitakt (which doesn't have a proper song mode).
