Theology 101 - IF God Existed

If God was more than a tool of fiction, then indoctrinating children with a believer's fantasyland vocabulary - would be a crime, scripture & theology would be redundant, wolves in sheep's clothing; Pretend faith had value, the only sign given would NOT be Jonah: A believer murdered by a other believers. Prayer would be useful in a children's hospital. Mountains would move on command, since faith would not be worthless.

Literate men have always known god as a tool of fiction. Believers continuously avoid the issue; believers commit the crime of indoctrinating children with a fantasyland vocabulary. Faith is a farce, fantasyland of prophecy, & resurrection. Believers don't get respect outside a camp of fellow believers, can't handle any condemnation of cult views, non-believers are eliminated, declared evil, baptized into the cult fantasy. The inquisitions & witch-killing are ended by secular law & order. Jesus Christ becomes alarmed by the gathering crowd of those seeking signs. He performs them in every chapter. It is astounding, how the Christ fantasy ignores Jesus saying, "This is a wicked generation seeking signs, the only sign given is Jonah,"

Thank you! I wasn't sure which way this video was heading when it started with the very traditional verse from Genesis which has for too long been used literally with some quite deleterious results. But the presentation that followed is a sampling of the best of a truly mature and well-developed understanding of God, humanity, and faith.

When I was a kid I used to read the Bible and I remember thinking that we must look like God since we are made in his image. But actually since then I've learned that is not what the Bible is referring to. What its referring to is the fact that we are spirits just like God. All of us are made with "Spirit material" which was once part of God and which will go back to God as well. That is, if we go through the second death which Jesus refers to in the gospel. Sadly, most of will experience the second death. Over 50%.

This documentary is too limited for me. It seems to limit God's image to the person of Jesus. Hindus see Bhagavan Krishna as the full expression of God on earth. Since God is formless Spirit, no physical form or incarnation could ever be a complete image of God. I think the best image of God has to come from the qualities of God, not from any one incarnation. I think we can deduce many of the qualities of God, but to know God we need to realize our oneness with our Creator.
Well, the idea that Jesus is indeed fully God is something you have to buy into for Christianity to work. That's really at the core of it all. So I don't know if I can help you withthat. I do think you are right with the last sentence, Jesus being God is not the end, instead Jesus and the Holy Spirit are what unites us with God. But what do you mean by God being formless spirit and why do you assume it as the starting point in your argumentation? David bentley Hart has a nice talk about the incarnation and Christian aesthetics, it's on TH-cam and may be up your alley. However it is very verbose and philosophical even for DBH standards

The Triune God is DISTINCT from all other notions of 'god' in that the Father, Son, Holy Spirit created us out of the love They shared for one another. Truly union is the point, but it is union out of agape love. (John 14:20, John 17:26). I'm pretty sure Bhagavan Krishna did not have the same motive as this self giving, other centered Triune God.
