Curious to hear your thoughts on how loud this bike is compared to the others in class. It's hard to tell in videos. I am debating this or MX5, SS 3.0 etc. Thanks!
@@aldog742 I'm not able to compare them on a personal basis aside from the 2.0 is drastically louder. It's hard to tell from the video, but when I hopped on the altis, It felt and sounded like a Tesla. Probably because of the hairpin motor and chain drive over the belt drive. Surrons use belt drives and Talaira uses chain so I will assume the Talaira would be closer as far as quietness
As far as the kickstand, when you receive the bike and after you installed the peg with the kickstand connected, you have to install the spring. The spring they give you is essentially that spring that you see connected on top of another skinnier spring that they have inside of the larger one. I was just explaining how it was extremely tedious to try to get both springs connected at the same time or even separately, then further stated that it was easier to crimp the hook on the smaller spring and pull it out from the inside of the larger one. I set the smaller one aside and just used the larger one, which I think works great. It's very easy and stable to throw your kickstand down and pop it back up. I would assume the second spring inside of the other connected would probably be a lot stiffer. Comparing to the e-ride, the spring on my e-ride was a lot stiffer and the kickstand is not hard to get down or anything, but it does need a little force. Pulling the spring out of the larger one and just installing a larger spring for the kickstand on the altis makes it so that you can pretty much tap it and it'll go down, but it's still completely strong enough to hold if you were to go over bumps on trail riding or hitting high speeds where vibrations can happen. Then I kind of compared and contrasted the seat sizes. The width of the altis seat is probably about an inch to an inch and a half wider on each side. Super comfortable bike!
