Yeah it’s safe to say Cynthia’s team is wayyy stronger than Red’s team in HGSS. Yes they have the same levels, but Cynthia’s team has higher base stats, more type coverage, and she has a pseudo as her ace. I’m 99% sure she could sweep his team with Garchomp and Lucario.

Yeahs she replaces roserade for it, and replaces Gastrodon for togekiss which is is closer to platinum style now, but aaron with a flygon? Looks off should have kept one of the wurmple evos or used a pinser.

I play on set because of how easy Pokémon has become over the years but MAN did I want to turn it off during this fight😂Genuinely pleased that my starter can’t run through the entire game this time around. I hope GameFreak considers bringing back ILCA to help in the future make more challenging fights like these

why does it feel like even in the first run everything in the E4 has perfect coverage and stats? They really went all-out with the difficulty of the games finale, which probably means a lot of new or inexperienced players likely got absolutely crushed by this massive jump in difficulty from the rest of the story
That kind of thing was part of the draw for the older games. It makes the adventure much more memorable if you hit a wall that you have to climb at some point. Also most kids are going to be using the box legendaries, so this is some pretty nice balancing.

@@Carnidoom Exp All. That's not the problem. The problem was that the game wasn't designed around the QoL function to where the player's pokémon may become over-leveled. After all, grinding doesn't make a game difficult. It makes it a chore, which is a problem in a modern gaming environment where it's so easy to just play another game instead.
The simple solution would be to increase XP that each pokemon gives. That would make the game less grindy but still require you to use all of your pokemon.
Ikr...even the lv66 one from the first league encounter gives me headaches...still haven't been able to beat it yet...jolly nature with max IVs + swords dance...what the heck did they smoke on that one lol. I mean, I easily get rid of Cynthia's first 5 pokemon and then Garchomp wipes out all my team because he outspeeds everything and Ohko's even my palkia......Sinnoh we have a problem lol. xD

Cynthia had already a stronger team than Red in the rematch it's just the level gape wasn't has much so people were shocked by the level of his team but he isn't that strong.

The League in these remakes is the hardest thing I’ve faced in any Pokémon game to date! On my first attempt, I got through Cynthia’s first five team members without having any of mine knocked out, but then her Garchomp just killed us all in one hit each. The third attempt is where I won, but just barely. I was playing with the set battle style (no switching out between KOs), didn’t use any potions or revives, and had an average team level of 85. If I had made one move differently- or Cynthia had gotten a critical hit -we would have lost.

To have fun: don't use potion, but ony bitter herbs to turn off the mechanic of affection. Turn off the possibiliy of switch pokemon during the Battle, and don't overlevel your pokemon. With this settings, The game is harder and funny. Pokemon must also be a strategic and not only 'press a' simulator.
I'm sorry but Leon haves nothing on Cynthia, she trains her Pokémon very well and very competitive, I get it he does too but Cynthia is just a whole other league.
Another proof that Cynthia's power has never been challenged. She has been a fan favourite for so long now that Nintendo has decided to confirm she is definitely the best Champion ever to have been encoutered in the Pokémon World.
44:55 - This hurts me. Switches off a 100% accuracy guaranteed to kill priority move for a non-priority 100% accuracy move. Had that Garchomp crit dragon claw Staraptor goes down. Quick attack is less flashy but you avoid the crit RNG chance.
The hardest post-game challenge ever I seen in Pokemon games. HGSS Red, B2W2 Challenge mode Elite four rematch, ORAS's superboss, Gen 7's hardest, and SwSh's post-champion battles are NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS.
Man sometimes it's more exciting when you have to fight fire with fire aka fight Cynthia's Garchomp with your own Garchomp. Or somehow have a Cloyster with Shell Smash, Skill Link and Icicle Spear
The original DP team was a breeze for 12 year old me but BDSP original team was a challenge for 26 year old me 😅 I learned they don’t run competitive sets in the DS versions but do in BDSP
I remember sweeping through Cynthia's team in a Nuzlocke with just 3 of my pokemon. 1. Blade the Gallade. 2. Big Chill the Froslass. 3. Jurryrig the Giratina.
I miss a rematch where each Pokémon is on lvl 100 and the opponents play super competitive and where they start with a random Pokémon so it is harder to predict
I turned off auto switch at the start of the game (because that's how it should be played) like a battle in the tower or online. And it was very hard. They are very smart and hit like a truck.

@@koma6465 But That's the thing, When you finish all 16 gyms in Hgss your pokemon are hardly in mid 50s (except maybe your starter) and encountering Red at that level no matter how excellent your team is just a disaster to battle. This Cynthia is way harder in Battle but the point where you encounter this rematch you already have re matched her twice and all your pokemon are likely 80+ so it's still manageable.
The switch to luxray from torterra to lower garchomps attack with intimidate and take it out with a star raptors brave bird was genius. There’s been so many times I’ve had a full team alive with a higher level Garchomp and she still one shots everyone on my team. Even if my garchomp had 3 swords dances I couldn’t one shot her garchomp even with mine 5 levels higher.
Crazy! They certainly should be considered as the strongest trainer ever!

Man I really appreciate this e4 they actually forced me to improve in pokemon rather then being able to sweep the whole game with my starter.
It just came to me now why they made EXP the way it is. The amount of hours you would have to put in without it would have been insanity.

because dragon rush is a 75% accuracy. now it has dragon claw and anything that counters fairy

To have fun: don't use potion, but ony bitter herbs to turn off the mechanic of affection. Turn off the possibiliy of switch pokemon during the Battle, and don't overlevel your pokemon. With this settings, The game is harder and funny. Pokemon must also be a strategic and not only 'press a' simulator.

44:55 - This hurts me. Switches off a 100% accuracy guaranteed to kill priority move for a non-priority 100% accuracy move. Had that Garchomp crit dragon claw Staraptor goes down. Quick attack is less flashy but you avoid the crit RNG chance.

HGSS Red, B2W2 Challenge mode Elite four rematch, ORAS's superboss, Gen 7's hardest, and SwSh's post-champion battles are NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS.

Man sometimes it's more exciting when you have to fight fire with fire aka fight Cynthia's Garchomp with your own Garchomp. Or somehow have a Cloyster with Shell Smash, Skill Link and Icicle Spear

I miss a rematch where each Pokémon is on lvl 100 and the opponents play super competitive and where they start with a random Pokémon so it is harder to predict

I turned off auto switch at the start of the game (because that's how it should be played) like a battle in the tower or online. And it was very hard. They are very smart and hit like a truck.

@@johanesddrdrs166 never felt it. I was way over leveled and I don’t know why. I tried to speed Run the game so I can just built a team online. Most of the time I was over 10 lvls. Yeah the rematches were cool but that’s post game stuff I’m talking about the main story and how piss easy it is

Never realize the lack in grass pokemon this series had i didn't get a good grass pokemon to i got my 7th badge. But i kinda of beat without grass type till i realize i have to fight cynthia but i forgot weren't we supposed to fight her later where we visit her grandma's place? I guess they changed that.

Tbf red was actually really easy once you got to his level. His pokemon have terrible movesets and none of them are ev/iv trained.
@@koma6465 But That's the thing, When you finish all 16 gyms in Hgss your pokemon are hardly in mid 50s (except maybe your starter) and encountering Red at that level no matter how excellent your team is just a disaster to battle.
This Cynthia is way harder in Battle but the point where you encounter this rematch you already have re matched her twice and all your pokemon are likely 80+ so it's still manageable.

To get Intimidate off.
The switch to luxray from torterra to lower garchomps attack with intimidate and take it out with a star raptors brave bird was genius. There’s been so many times I’ve had a full team alive with a higher level Garchomp and she still one shots everyone on my team. Even if my garchomp had 3 swords dances I couldn’t one shot her garchomp even with mine 5 levels higher.
I had mine like 15-20 levels higher lol I got that 1 shot lol kill on her pokemon
