    Hi Ron, thanks for all of your videos, do not fall into the trap of reviewing window switches again, please, this is pathetic (: (I bought many luxury vehicles in the last 15 years and I never paid attention to WINDOW SWITCHES) all the comments from the "Reviewers " on minute staff like that make me scratch my head. These switches are from MERCEDES Benz as well as Chrysler minus the chrome inserts on the Benz (: I had few Benzes and just recently took a picture of GLS AMG for over 100k and it has the SAME switches. Nobody says they are from the Benz no... they are crap from Chrysler.
    I own 2017 Ghibli Q4 and 2018 Levante SQ4 after owning few Mercs, BMWs, Audi and Porsches and I love Masers !!! Way more finesse, class and the balance of handling, ride, sound, premium leather, style are to me way more enjoyable than Germans on the market. I understand why Germans are more popular, primarily because of the PAST reputation (and the price compared to the Maserati). That used to be the case that is why I was buying them in the past but now ... look what happened to Mercedes- paint is terrible, interior materials hard and plastic like, (for Luxury standards) most have nice design but the materials are cheep in comparison to the past Mercedes where nothing could touch a Benz, it is a sad case of quality traded for numbers to get sales and middle class market.
    End of QUALITY dominance by the Great Benz. Audi is all about tech, modern style over busy futuristic interior design and good ride, sure they are nice but not sumptuous or exquisite like the Maserati. BMW ? ...hmm, mushy ride, lost its sharpness from the glory days - different version of on Audi to me.
    Recently drove brand new Macan Turbo then my Levante. Macan ? NEIN DANKE
    Maserati to me still feels PREMIUM in many ways.
    Cheers

      So called Doug DM is one of the "entertainers" not reviewers on the internet who has a loooot to say about Maseratis and all the crowds who have SOOOO much experience with Masers love him...
      I can show you what is wrong with an Audi Q7 assembly /quality and we would be laughing hard,
      I went to the dealer yesterday.
      Cheers, keep up the good work and stay objective, definitely gear shifter is not the best, but hey I can not think of much more (:

      I believe the whole idea behind critiquing minute items such as door switches, "oh shit" handles and the like is that the vehicle is a luxury vehicle and even small details should be of a high quality. I've had the opportunity to drive (albeit not own) many luxury vehicles as of late and over time I have begun to notice those details, likely due to the fact that I have been able to drive so many different ones in such a short span of time. When it comes time for me to purchase a new sedan, I will very likely pay attention to details such as stitching, door switches or seat belt covers, simply because of how I perceive them.

    I've said it in many Quattroporte videos before, but this is the most gorgeous 4-door car on sale! The new wheels look fab, the Chrysler stuff doesn't really bother me, since it's simple and all works properly.
    Entirely subjective statement here; but I'm glad that Maserati didn't invest too much in the technology and gadget side of things. Think about it, could you imagine how laggy and useless a current Audi A8 or 7-Series will be in 20-30 years time? Keeping the screens and tech running properly will be a nightmare! But since Maserati keep these sorts of things simple, it reassures me that (hopefully) when I get one, it'll be easier to keep running for decades to come.

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Simple and to the point. Its like the iphone of technology. Yeah it may not be super in depth or customizable but it is solid and works when it needs to. That's what I need is for the stuff i use on the daily to work. All of that other stuff is there just to say you have it, not that you need it.

      I agree this used to really bother me at first. I learned a lot of high end ,low production, cars are borrowing bits, Lamborgini, Bentley, Rolls Royce when it comes to tech and lil odd bits its because they have to they dont have to production numbers. I learned to get over this a few metal pieces do not make them comparable or down grade the craftsmanship of the high-end auto maker

    Another great detailed overview Ron. Enjoyed it!
    Switching brands for a moment, I heard a rumor that Alfa will resurrect the 8C Competezione model name for an all- new super car. The rumor goes on to mention 700hp and possibly available as a 2019 model. Is there even a slight chance that you would be able to get one for a review?

    I just took delivery of a 2019 Quattroporte S GranLusso. I love the car so much. But I was wondering, is the center console, the one that’s under the armrest, supposed to be that shallow or is it two tiers? I also have the rear seat executive package. I don’t know if any of that impacts the center console storage, but it’s only about an inch deep and I could not find a way to make it any deeper. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I think 🤔 Maserati need to use bigger infotainment system with higher tech, like s class or 7 series, also using led all around interior, I would pay 2k more if these staff is in Maserati cars,and as you said about the buttons it should be another material it will look nicer and suitable for Maserati cars 👍🏻

    For next generation of quattroporte Maserati should add 3 main features in the car such as rear massage, two screens for rear passengers with high tech and controller and an small fridge for the rear passengers, although I know that Maserati is a sport car not a regular luxury car but these features I think it will be standard features for luxury cars for 2020 and above

    Love the design, how it drives, the sound, the leather seats design and materials but some details should be changed at this price point, like the buttons under the big screen, feel a little cheap, like a piano board or some alluminium buttons where you hear the “click” when you use them, it would feel more premium. Also I didn’t see an wireless charger for the new phones. Again, I really like this car but I see the reasons why it doesn’t sell much, S class and A8 L, and 7 series are more technologically advanced, and this is what rich people look for. Only few people will enjoy this car driving it

      I had mine 17 and new 18 in the garage siting for few weeks at the time not charged or started, and had no problems, but noticed that it was not engaging start stop function for few weeks after, probably to constantly charge the battery. AGM batteries (what Maser is using made by Johnson Controls BTW) are tough and can withstand many, many cycles, so no worries of premature battery destruction. Hope it helps

    For technology at this price point, Maserati needs massaging seats, some level of autonomous driving, reclining rear seats, a rear entertainment system, quilted leather seats, and much more featutes. A bmw 750i or mercedes S class is about 20k less than this and most of them come equipped with these features. Also, the 750i and S class have V8 biturbos as opppsed to this turbocharged V6

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. The engine and sound and history is really what puts Maserati at the price point it is today. To be associated with Maserati, means you are associated with Ferrari, and who doesn't want to be apart of that club? But Maserati also has to give the consumers what they want, even if it isnt necessarily what they 'need...'

    Not worth the money at all. Too much plastic for being called a luxury car, infotainment is trash including the drivers display, no paddle shifters, no panoramic sunroof, the sound system is not high end by any standards, no ambient lighting, no ventilated seats. The depreciation is insane on these cars. And finally the ride isn’t great for a luxury sedan neither the handling and performance is for a sports car.
