I grew up with a fantastic mom and a really sh!tty dad. He was in our lives for 14 years until about 5 years ago when he filed for divorce, and he's been dragging the case out as long and as painfully as he can (they're still not done with the divorce process.)
I've had other father figures in my life teach me how to be a decent human. Not just how to be a cultured, educated lady, but just how to be a genuinely good and kind person. My mom played this song for me one day and it clicked instantly: This song is everything my loved ones have taught me over the years. I can proudly say as a 21-year-old that I do my darnedest best every day to be humble and kind.

I helped raise my step daughter’s girls, for nearly 10 years. They’re teenagers now and moved out of town to live with their mom, it’s been a struggle for them and for us. This song means so much to me and I sent this to them and a great niece that we also helped raise. I don’t think falling out of love with this kind of music especially yours is even possible, and I know you probably have better things to do than read my post, my grandmother passed away recently and I actually made two other posts about it because I loved her so much and I miss her, and when I was struggling with my depression ( still kinda ) it made me think of that beautiful tropical vibe and fondness of the ocean and everything in it, I started remembering what my dream job was when I was a kid and still is my dream job today and I hope to make it that far, i’m going to become a scuba diving instructor, and I will share my passion with the rest of the world ( Recording guys and posting them on TH-cam One day) Because the ocean is they go into another world and it’s a beautiful thing to share such an experience with people, you inspire me to accomplish my dreams and you’ve taught me a lot through your music, I have been humbled and I will do my very best to stay kind.
