The Creature was created by Dr Frankenstein, sure. However, I think it's also entirely normal to call the creature Frankenstein too. For starters, Dr. Frankenstein could easily trademark both the process of creating the creature and the creature itself as he technically invented it. Furthermore, the old book has the Creature believing itself to be the son the Doctor never had therefore making it likely that the creature would take the surname Frankenstein. Therefore, it's entirely logical to say "Frankenstein Frankensteined a Frankenstein Frankenstein".
I like how in Portrait of Ruin they refer to him as The Creature. Because that's what the original name for him was. See Frankenstein is the name of the scientist who created The Creature, who was also called Frankenstein's Monster. Eventually The Creature later was called Frankenstein, either by confusion or the idea that the monster had taken the name of it's 'Father'
...and in some book clubs and other literary circles, the Creature is referred to as Adam Frankenstein because when he's confronting Victor Frankenstein on the ice and chastizing him for spurning and abandoning his own creation, "Am I not your Adam?" (in reference to Victor playing God by creating him) is one thing the Creature says to him. So I was tickled when I watched 'Omen of Sorrow' gameplay and, sure enough, his name is Adam Frankenstein in that game. ☺
Portrait of ruin's Frankenstein was the most annoying. In Richter mode, when I fought two of them in nest of evil, I was dying over and over again. Only way I was able to beat him was to use Richter as a distraction and then use Maria to dps him, plus her doves block machine gun fire.

@@jaredelizardo201it's because the GameCube sold poorly and had small discs that cost more. The PS2 Castlevania games also wouldn't work for the GameCube where the player base was mainly children. That's why resident evil 4 was supposed to be a GameCube exclusive but made it for the PS2 later because it isn't a kids game. The Castlevania games on PS2 are a little more like resident evil in terms of tone.
