      I ran a D6R high track on pipeline with tracks that wide I could go across swamps with it in Louisiana where in from but it took forever to turn it and hard on arms to turn...it work the shit out of u turning.

      @@jonathandesselle4464 I also ran a 6 for a couple years clearing huge swamps for a massive international airport. It was AMAZING. So cool when you’re in the operators chair and all those huge tracks are going around and all you see is track. 😂 I saved a BUNCH of swamp creatures with that 6 tho. I wasn’t supposed to dedicate time to saving turtles and snakes but I would slowly windrow material and chase as many as I could over to safer areas. The operator they had previously was plowing right over the animals and I could not stand it. Anyway... good memories of swamp walking in a 6 with ultra wide pads too.

    Yeah but how good does it turn??? I have a 350 John Deere with wide pads and it can’t spin around without getting in a bind.

    I LOVE operating dozers with extremely wide tracks. When operating them... it’s INCREDIBLE seeing all those track going around when you are in the cab. It’s such a cool experience and nearly impossible to describe properly(for me anyway lol).

      @@joelshack85 I spent 2 weeks here in Tennessee pushing clay with a D8 and it was awful.
      You could cut it but that was about it, can't lay it down for anything. Ended up making windrows everywhere and rolling them over and over till it was dry enough to actually work with

    It's not as simple as just slipping on some wide tracks, the bogies will have to have been moved outboard to stay on the centre line of the tracks, so the drive axles and housings will have been modified and the outboard support arms will have been widened to match the new wider blade. The question is was all that work done by the manufacturer or by an approved contractor working with specific additional parts?

    • @historicbeef
      @historicbeef 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark Fryer Knowing Liebherr for a long time, it might have been factory made, for example the name of the machine is a PR712XXLGP. Push raupen 712 extra extra low ground pressure.

    • @ferguson20diesel49
      @ferguson20diesel49 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Irish companies do it themselves. A lot people who cut there own turf tackle all the engineering themselves and make complete big machines from scratch. Also the final-drives don’t always run in the center line of the tracks
