  • A Seed - poem and sound design by Charlie Shread
This is soundscape poetry, or rather, flash fiction (a micro story) with audio immersion.
    A Seed
My grandmother, a vibrant woman, threw one of her apple seeds out of the train window and it disappeared in an instant, into blur.
Later, as we walked, through the rich countryside and beyond a great hill, she flung a few more seeds over a hedge into a field unknown, and she said "I wonder," with a grin on her face, "could I have started an orchard?"
When my grandmother next visited and took me in her care, we explored a new path, past a derelict city, into a dead place, and she gave me a handful of seeds, and said nothing. I threw them all up. The seeds flew high and far, spreading across the sky, and as they scattered around and out of sight, dreams formed, and I was wondering too.
