It's wild to me that a new version of Guitar Rig is already here, 6 came out not that long ago. I'd love to see NI spend some resources bringing powerful instruments like FM8 or Battery a facelift for 2023. I will say that the keyboard presets did sound phenomenal though.
It’s always so nice to see your informative style, that avoids overhyping! The one thing that is interesting to observe with NI and so many other music software makers is the shrinking price difference between buying the whole product vs. buying an upgrade. As a result, I’ve been more likely to buy more entirely new software from new (to me) suppliers and fewer upgrades from my long term suppliers. But I must be in the minority, since suppliers keep doubling down on their cheap entry, expensive upgrades strategy. I consider the price for GR7 as a first time purchase a great value. The price for the upgrade from GR6, not so much.
I have to say, using guitar rig this way seems much more productive, and it actually sounds incredible - I hadn’t thought of running my minifreak through it but I will be now! I’ve been using Amplitube for my actual guitar, but effects in guitar rig are better. Thanks for the vid Jef as always!
100th like!! WOO HOO!! Great vid as always; I never really gave GR much attention because I’m not a guitarist and ion use a lotta guitar in my compositions, but I figured this is a lot like using the Soundtoys Rack, which I use on almost everything, after watching this.
Jef you are an amazing human being and I really enjoy seeing your proficiency with many instruments. That trumpet was beautiful. I would love to see a pack of your own trumpet and others samples for Maschine, definitely worth re sampling your skills and I would pay for it gladly. I'm stuck in the 70 s blending into today's sound and experimenting... Thanks for your awesome tips.
Wow... As a keyboard player, and having GR inside Komplete, I never use GR for my keyboard sounds. Here there are valid examples. Main goal will be some amp simulation for my Rhodes VST. Thanks! (Hoping GR7 will be in next Komplete version...)
0:55 What I think is that in the future Music Production Suite is for the effects (so formerly Izotope + Exponential Audio, Guitar Rig, Raum, Crushpack, Modpack, Supercharger GT, Replika XT, Solid Mix Series, Transient Master, Driver, Premium Tube Series, Vintage Compressors Finger, Mouth, Molekulor, Transiet Master, Traktor's 12 and whatever effect the future brings) and Komplete for the instruments Of course there will be arrangements to croosgrade / upgrade, etc. For example if you feel you will be losing Guitar Rig and such in Komplete, you can probably get MSP for a friendly price because you've got Komplete Standard, an even friendlier price with Ultimate. However I guess the full RX will be kept seperate, 'cause Hollywood & such.
Thanks so much for the vid, Jeff Can Jeff or anyone tell me when using Guitar Rig7 inside Maschine, How do I get a guitar/signal in? I can get the signal working in standalone mode, and it's set to the same audio interface, where my guitar line in is, but within Maschine, It doesn't seem to work... I must be missing something!
Great approach, Jef. GR7 might be better as an FX processor than as a guitar sim - just sayin’. But for a more natural guitar sim package, I’m finding IK Amplitube and TONEX better sounding and the UI more intuitive. As part of Komplete GR6/GR7 are nice additions - so I use it just because it’s included - but I wouldn’t buy it individually because it’s just not quite good enough. Maybe there are Guitar Rig fans out there that I just don’t know. No offence to folks that like it. 😅
Not sure if I really need to upgrade yet from GR6 ... I am quite happy as it is. However, I see that somehow the sizing problem of NI instruments in Cubase is solved. Is that something you did or did NI fix the problem ? I don't want to downscale my 4k screen to 1080p. Thanks for any helpful info!
There is a rack tool (buttons at the top where Metronome and Tuner are) called Preset Volume, if you expand it there is a wet/dry mix knob for the whole preset. It's in Guitar Rig 6. Maybe that suits your purpose? Looking at the Guitar Rig 6 manual its page 54 if u want to read more.
This is a waste people dont buy it imo. Jeff love your content and you have to say good things about sponsor which is all good but i cant recommend this. Native instruments needs to actually take time to develop things like playbox before releasing more shit. People have caught on.
Thank you Jef for these wonderful videos, we really appreciate you putting the time, effort and soul into them.
Thanks! They do take so much work... but they force me to create... which is good!!
@@jefgibbonsSeems there are some perks involved as well 😉
As a Helix Native user, I've kinda always just giggled when people bring up Guitar Rig. Nothing has changed.
Jef, amazing as always. I really enjoy your approach when you build a 🎵 song
It's been a while since I've done one... thanks!

Or Reaktor!
Seriously... we need a new Battery!
I have mentioned this 2. FM8 Absynth need interface update.
Fantastic! Thanks for demoing Guitar Rig 7. Lots to get head around as I'm new to all this. 🎸🎶😃
i dno about guitar rig but you sold me that trumpet for sure 🔥🔥
Not even on vacation in Croatia I want to do without your videos. Looking forward to experimenting with Guitar Rig! Thanks Jef for the inspirations!
Ha! Glad to hear it, enjoy your vacation!
This is exactly what I needed to watch!
Having Jeff and Beau to always showcase their products is one of NI's best decisions ever.
You can do most of this distortion bitcrushing sounddesign in Cubase with it's onstock plugins.
Loved GR6, so am going to upgrade now!
Great stuff. Incredibly helpful.
Nice studio!
Nice music! :)
The Rhodes + GR7👌🏻 Great sounds.
I'm always blown away by the sound of this Rhodes... I guess it IS the real thing!
Doesn’t seem to include much. The jump from 5 to 6 seemed much bigger.
money grab

Yes! The new cost seems so cheap... but the upgrade too much!! I'm sure way more would upgrade if it was lower...

“BIRDS! …alright… not expecting that” LOL
Incredible home studio set up!! How are you able to afford all that amazing equipment 😲😲
👍👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 Bravo Jeff…. The Best !!!

Grande Jeff como siempre

with playing chops like this, anything would sound great. but ok, the filters sound great too
Nice 👊🏾🔥🔥🔥
Love the final song! Where's the JG Soundcloud channel??

Try this video, not sure if this is what you mean! th-cam.com/video/eTm6QWtHsm0/w-d-xo.html
09:49 Red Acid preset!!
Will GR7 pickup GR5 presets?
🎺🎺
Would be fair if the upgrade cost like 50 bucks for komplete ultimate owners .. but seem nice

Hey JG! I'll check out the others, haven't touched Amplitude in a few decades!!
Maybe on the next episode of Beats and Chats you can get another artist from Creator Base ‘19 like Sarah2ill or somebody
1st. Go Jeff Go! 🎉

Did they finally put a global mix/blend knob ??

@@evillordzenu yes there are ways but not so convenient. i don't see any excuse to do it simple and properly on the top.
Considering NI and Izotope are the same company now they should be integrating their products more
Should have been a free update!
You need an Instagram account, Jef :(
I know... I need more time!!!
