Very spectacular, you guys must have a lot of fun. Moving back and forth can help overcome small obstacles when moving very slowly. At high speed it will not give you more impuls. The speed of the centre of mass remains the same as no extra "external" force acts on car and driver. In the same way, blowing from the deck with ventilators in your sails will not increase the speed of a sailboat. It would make a lot more sense to maintain an aerodynamic pose and just lean back at high speed. A lot of impuls is lost at the bumps. To avoid this loss, driver and passenger could lift themselves up in anticipation of a bump.
I've thought about this too and I agree with most of your points. There are some effects due to the physics of moving these soapbox cars that Luis and Ramiro could be taking more advantage of, not that they seem to need any further advantage. There's a real intuitive skill Luis has when chosing the line to take into a corner, due to road camber and relative entry/exit speed I really enjoy watching.
