ITS CRAIN Lab Opens

At the Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (ITS) we advance innovation, inform policy, and investigate telecommunications problems for the benefit of our Nation. Our Next Generation Communication team provisioned the ITS Communications Research and Innovation Network (CRAIN) lab to serve as our testbed for 5G and eventually 6G technologies. A key goal for the CRAIN lab in 2022 is to acquire a variety of Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) equipment to test O-RAN integration and interoperability between different vendors, and O-RAN solution performance compared to traditional RAN.
