- In this video I am going to show you how I set up a graphic novel in Adobe Indesign. The digital files of a graphic novel is made up of an interior files (the pages), which we will set up in Indesign, and a cover file, I'll quickly touch on how I set this up using Photoshop and kdp.amazon.com....
By the end of this video you will have reduced the Indesign intimidation factor by exactly 12.9%, I'm making this up, but...hopefully it helps take the edge off setting up your first graphic novel.
Here is a link to the template files I mention in the video:

You're probably one of America's top 100 illustrators. You're definitely in the top category in terms of artistic skill and ability to create artistic stories with graphics.
Appreciate that. Working on getting to that #1 spot
New subscriber. Excellent tutorial. At first I was like "not another AI generated graphic novel." Your illustrations are high quality!
Appreciate that! You will not be seeing AI art tutorials on my channel :)
I’m planning on eventually releasing my webtoon “My Blazing Husky” as a graphic novel, but if season 1 gets too long I’m probably going to split the print release in two. Also I’m wondering how manga could look printed with KDP though I saw someone try to print their manga through them and the screentones came out with moiré. I want to try it for myself since I had an idea for a horror/dark fantasy manga but I’m not sure if any other creators of black and white comics have gone the route of KDP.
Hallo. Thanks! I've read that fixed layout EPUBs don't work on Kindle e-readers due to not having reflowable text. Is there a special comic-books box you gotta tick at some point during KDP upload that gets KDP to accept your file as a comic book with fixed text bubbles and not try to reflow them or block them from e-reader download?
I haven't looked into digitial e-readers for my graphic novel yet. I've been only thinking of them as paperback versions. I'll spend sometime and see if I can find some answers. Keep in touch on YT or TT about this. It will be useful for people in the future
@@RyRyArt Thanks! It's a tricky one. Exporting as fixed layout EUPB from ID is pretty straightforward - but it sounds like, to get onto e-readers as a comic, you gotta allow for any panel to be tapped on & enlarged for close reading. Sounds like some Javascript might be involved. I haven't been brave enough to give it a try 😅
