Losing his wife to sickness left Clay broken and lost for fifteen long years, that he couldn’t bear to even listen to his own music after she was gone. But then along came this one fan who helped reignite the spark… only for it to almost go out again. But Ash helped the spark rekindle by leading the audience to encourage Clay to step back onto the stage, and it was the feeling and the memory of his Ruby, standing beside him in spirit, that finally restored her husband’s burning passion Clay found himself again, his love of music, performing, his appreciation for his fans and life in general, and he’s found peace within himself. He will always miss the love of his life, but now he will remember his Ruby fondly rather than mourn her miserably
This was so incredibly beautiful... I just wish Clay Calloway would have sung with a deeper/gravely voice... but then I'd still be crying... Cannot wait for Sing 3... this one was absolutely beautiful, and prime example of how a sequel should be done.

In 1986 when I was 26, I walked into a new job and my boss was playing the War album. I’d never heard of U2 here in the US. When SBS came on I was hooked and went out and bought their albums. The following year Joshua Tree became one of the very few perfect albums of mine (One Tree Hill my fav song). What a summer that was. I was sitting watching this film with my 6 yr old grandson and found it fun. Then this scene came on and brought tears to my eye. I don’t cry often and a cartoon of all things, but this really was an emotional moment. Hats off Bono.
The song choice for this moment was perfect. Especially with the lyrics singing of the crowd long before the instrumental kicked in and it was the lion who started the instrumental that truly showed he was back and ready to sing

I saw this movie recently, and this part made me drop tears, it's the emotion when you see the spirit of clay's wife, and then you see Both Clay and ash singing, this song is the reason why i loved Sing 2 more than Sing 1, i could listen to this song all day!
