Thank you so much for your willingness to move in a new direction ❤
The cardigan in the first outfit is absolutely gorgeous! I love the colour. Perfect for autumn
That duster is so soft and cozy!
Very interesting content and observations on midlife women in the workplace - looking forward to more content. Great outfit inspiration as well :)
Let us know where to find any new channel you create! I only work part time right now, but still want to get all of your info for working ladies in the midlife years!! Can’t get enough of your videos!❤
I love how our reactions to your videos, along with your prompting to engage with one another has created an organic spinoff. Brilliant!
I opened my private practice in my early 40s. I had soon become disillusioned working for others. I wanted genuine results without the bureaucracy. After listening to this video, I realized that all those years ago, I had to self reflect and make a change. I hadn’t looked back until today. It was quite difficult to start all over again, but it was the best move. I’ll work until my late 80s! Thanks for the inspiration. It’s contagious!
I am 81 and started working in1969. You guys have no idea what it was like back then. I know things are not as they should be, but back in my day there were very few professional women and most secretaries wanted to do nothing with us. And that was the least of our problem. Seems like our problems are taking a different turn now that certain men would like to be in control of our bodies and the course of our life. They will not win in the end but for now many will suffer. We need to support and help each other.
Thanks for all the work you do putting these informative videos together! I'm still working as an ADJUNCT TEACHER at a local Community College. This allows me to spend time with my grandchildren and continue teaching math. I was thinking about you this week because I was called for jury duty. The lawyers on the case patiently explained how the criminal justice system worked but, we only got as far as voir dire when they settled and we were no longer needed. It was a really interesting experience! (I started using the hanger hooks - you're right, it does save time in the morning!)
I love hearing ALL of this! (Even more, I love hearing that the lawyers were able to come to terms and get it settled before putting it to a jury. Saluting my colleagues!)
I am soon to be 68. I was an RN for many years. But I can’t go back at this time. I am interested in hearing about any changes to the system.
It is so kind of you to offer these videos. I watched the video on grief and gratitude. I'm sure, as I did, many were so appreciative of your sharing. I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. But, you are so aware of being so lucky to have had her friendship. I also remember my Mother grieving the loss of her parents and didn't really understand what it meant until I lost her. As we get older more important people in our lives will pass and it is so important to remember how lucky we were to have had them in our lives. Thank you Valerie for all that you share, you help so many.☺
Thanks so much for your Monday content - I am in the fitness industry as a trainer and was pushed out because "I did not have the look clients are drawn to" I'm in my 60's - 5 feet and a size 6p. Rather than feeling sorry for myself, and being negative, I started my own studio and have my own business. Sad but true that many of us in this time of our lives have to be business owners to be successful. My clients are amazing, they work hard, and I am grateful that I am helping people focus on their fitness! Thanks again!
I did the same thing! I love being a business owner. Thx for sharing!
I enjoyed your talk and video on fashion but i am retired and I certainly hope this is a helping hand to all the ladies out there that are still in the work force😊
Valerie, thank you. Your efforts on this topic are appreciated. There is so much to look forward to as this community develops.
I am so excited for where we are all going TOGETHER as a community...a "girl gang" of working women! lol
I love your hair! I have tried, through so many salons, to get that same creamy white color. Mostly, this has not worked out. If you happen to do it, yourself, please share your formula. 😊
Thank you - Feria Ice Blonde!
We are employable. It's the employers who must see that we are employable with honed skills, experience, work wisdom to boot. And we are beyond the drama that younger women may be prone to.
Btw, i wish i can wear cashmere but i cannot as i'm allergic to wool. So i'm at peace with whatever is available in shops.
This is precisely what the two recruiters I spoke to this week said. AND...we have better person-to-person skills than our younger colleagues! They attribute it to the fact that we grew up having to speak face to face to each other rather than being stuck to devices.
I am allergic, too. Luckily, we have so many options. We can always find quality items. Thanks for sharing!
