I hate to correct the great man, but Marsha wasn't at the beginning of the Stonewall rebellion. She arrived a few hours into it (according to her own telling). And, Gay Is Good was coined by Frank Kameny, who had already spent many years battling the US Government to get his job back after being fired for being homosexual. He and others laid the political groundwork for everything that happened after Stonewall.

Why the hell did they have to do the raids on FEBRUARY 5TH? High was -7 C, low was -17 C (19 F / 1 F) that day in Toronto (5 Feb 1981). Even if they waited two weeks, the weather was 7 C / 2 C (45 F / 36 F) on February 19, and above freezing for most of the stretch between February 16 and March 15. Better yet, wait until May to do the raids so that no one suffers hypothermia. And all of this overlooks one fact: the raids were wrong to begin with.
I would never frequent such a bathhouse, I'm straight, but I believe a person should be free be LGBT without legal consequences.
