I forgot to mention how we caught the croakers. Ryan was using a chicken rig with small pieces of shrimp on the hook. I was using a 1/0 circle hook with a piece of shrimp on it with a small pinch weight on the leader.
Man I wish you success, but I have to be honest, that's like bass fishing, everyday, got to remember you have an audience that expecting something different, every vid it's ok if you fail, just saying
i feel like a large baitcaster would be a better set up for this kind of fishing; you can put your thumb down on the spool to give more drag to really convince a snook that he actually does not want to be under that dock, and using braid and big baits on spinning rods i've cut my index finger before. youll also get better control of the bait as you lob it under the dock because you can thumb the spool instead of trying to slow it by grabbing the line poring from the front of your reel. just my two cents, great video, great fish, and consider a penn fathom II 15 levelwind; 310 yards of 50 pound braid and 30 pounds of drag with a 5.5:1 gear ratio
Justin Menendez my dad has an old classic shipoke made out of Clearwater FL way back when. He’s used to guide out if it. It looked very similar to how that boat is set up. I thought it was just a new version of it. They started to make them again. Beautiful boat, awesome job btw man. I found you recently and I’ll be subscribing!
I busted off under a dock one day, as I'm trying to re-rig my buddy hooks into a fish. Lands it and yells at me "heads up" as he tosses me my jig head I had just lost that was in a snooks mouth. Crazy stuff
I caught what I estimate to be a 44" 2 years ago (see profile pic) but my ruler stopped at 36"!! I now carry a tailors ruler (fabric, rolls up, small as hell and 60 something inches long) in a zip lock. Only break it out when necessary. Haven't yet, But it's there for the NEXT big one!! Lol. And it was like $1.99. :-)
Most rulers people have in their boats go up to 36". My 45" snook ruler is back in my Gheenoe. Its not really a big deal to me to know the length but people in the comment section will tell me I'm lying if I dont measure the fish.
@@justin_menendez I get that and I wouldn't care who called you a lier, that's just childish on there their part and unimportant. But for ME! Having that tailor's ruler is for MY peace of mind! I don't catch the biggen's like you do! :-) I need Proof for ME! PICS! Bragging rights. :-) a tailor's ruler is a small cheep long a$$ fabric ruler for like a $1.99 at Wal-Mart.
I mean it was like 38-39 snook but his drag could of been much tighter without worrying about it popping. I've yanked 30" snook out of tons of structure with #15 braid #25 leader and a much cheaper 4k than he is using and my drag still wasn't fully locked
Locked down drag and got staaled out and the anti reverse went out. Do yourself a favor and chuck it in the ocean. Ever wonder why they made them waterproof? Penn slammer 3 best reel for your buck
@@justin_menendez Thank you for responding! Don't ever get to big for us little people! Keep up the amazing content and channel. I wish you all the success in life.
Nice video, actually got to see some of the fish you were pitching to when they followed the bait out. Hard close quarters fight like that i would use a 7/0 with a turned up eye on a snell knot...that loop knot is failing you!!! Keep pumping out the killer videos, I love it 👍
That’s awesome you did a live croaker vid. I’ve been catching them by the docks here in California an was wondering if I could use them as live bait! Looks like they work to me !
I have watched pretty much all of your videos and still don't know what town or county in FL you live/fish in. I think people both in FL and all over the world love to know. Other states/countries may find it cool to look on Google maps at area and i like to know because I fish from Jacksonville to Jupiter quite a bit.
24" last week on a pilchard here in east coast central Florida. Much bigger here and you don't want to eat them. They get worms. Had a 27" years ago but released em.
Agree with the dude below..they'll hit those pigs almost as well as croaker..and where are you bro bro...not trying to find soots..bekieve me im good...just want see if we're in the same area
I forgot to mention how we caught the croakers. Ryan was using a chicken rig with small pieces of shrimp on the hook. I was using a 1/0 circle hook with a piece of shrimp on it with a small pinch weight on the leader.
What kind of locations are you finding the croakers?
Man I wish you success, but I have to be honest, that's like bass fishing, everyday, got to remember you have an audience that expecting something different, every vid it's ok if you fail, just saying
Have you ever eaten Croaker? Really white flakey non fishy meat. Those 12” Croaker are perfect for frying up. Give it a try.
I’d love to know too what kind of locations you can find croakers in please& thank you.
When are you going to upload
What an awesome day !
I lovely croakers bro 😍
Nice video fishing man ,,,!!!

Is that boat a shipoke?
Its a East Cape Lostmen

What braid do you use?
Those are great to eat also
yo justin your my fav tuber
Thank you🤘
Nice fish
Are those the same as whiting?
No not that I know of. They look somewhat similar though.
I felt that in my soul when you threw that grunt back, that’s west coast gold brother haha
Hahaha so true
same on the east coast he just don’t know abt it 😭
True wish we had croakers like on the East coast though. They are def better than grunts
Adam Vansant fwc should stock them i think that would work out
I could just not be in the right spot but I have way better luck with pin fish than grunts

I’ve caught a 18 inch croaker
That was some awesome fishing!! Great video!!
🔥
What boat is that
What brand braid and leader do you recommend to use
I've been using Spiderwire Ultrcast braid and Florida Fishing Products flourocarbon. I also use Ande monofilament for leader as well.
Justin Menendez I’ve never tried spider wire I’ll have to give it a try thanks
where was that
Awesome video!
Thank you!!
One would think you would have a 40 inch ruler when fishing for 40 inch snook. Just busting your chops love the content.

Absolute banger vid
Awesome fish but can’t believe you broke a staal.
Oh I didnt break it, it was already broken.
Every Justin Menendez video ever: "LET'S GO! Take me to the dock..." followed by three minutes of stumbling around under a dock
That’s so him
What size hook and bait were you using to catch the croakers?
Small piece of shrimp on a 1/0 circle with a small pinch weight on the leader.
says no big setups but there was a van stall on the boat
nvm im stupid
I didn't really want to use my buddies set up at first because the VS was having issues and I didnt want to break anything.
You should try croaker swimbaits
Yo justin bro what type of gheenoe do you have is it 15’
15'4" Gheenoe Highsider. There is a video on it maybe like 15 videos back.
Bet that up where do you fish im in jacksonville
Justin can you do a challenge for your subscribers where we can have a chance to fish with you
Yes that would be sick

He says “why is this always me” when he opens the bail when a 33+ snook takes him 50 feet back into the dock. Lock it or pop it

No problem

Haven't tried the slammer #3 but LOVE my 3 Penn Battle 2's! 4 years in the saltwater and counting! :-)
Great video bro! I love your content i had to sub!!!

I caught hundreds of those as kid on the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake VA
bro stop jumping in the water, kinda annoying
Facts. Funny thing is I pull 30 plus put of docs without needing to jump out the boat 🤷♂️
Croakers the shizz bait whooop!!!
The crocus in a grass flat or mudflat

Caught a 27 inch beast of a speckled trout last week on about a 5 inch live croaker in Port Mansfield Tx 🎣🎣🎣

Love watching you catch Mogans And I appreciate the content and dedication cool seeing you jump in to go after fish man keep it up 👍🏻 🔥
When he said my drag all the way tight I lost it. That drag ain't fully tight to be squealing that much. Smh 🤦♂️
Snook are like the bass of the sea imo
Tarpon like mullet 4?
you should do a catch clean and cook with the cuberas i want to see how you filet and cooked them
I'd love to see you do a video pitching the Live Target Croaker swimbaits at those monster snook! Pls make this happen 🙏
This isn’t fishing
When u fight a croaker the same way u pull a big snook out of a dock😂😂
Rather eat them Croaker's be than catch be a 40in snook
Mark it on the boat or rod, then measure, I never carry a tape or scale😂
Bro, how was that Cubera Snapper? Those were beasts and the battle was epic. Another stellar video. Keep Slaying!
The filets are frozen right now!

Mullet are overrated
Apprantley you don’t catch many snook. 😂 lol
Mullet are amazing but so are croakers
My pb snook is 18 inches if that says anything 😂
Dylan Taylor says alot😂
Hey I’m a bass guy my pb bass is 8.09
Fished here this morning lmaoo
did you get any Snook?
You spend as much time in the water fighting fish as you do on the boat.
These fish don’t seem as smart as the ones on the west coast :(
Lol seems that way
I am always pumped to come back home after a day of fishing and watch the GOAT himself 🐐! Love the videos brother!!
