Love both of them❤️so nice to see a couple work together the way they do!! Younger people should take notes! Love crabs and seafood!! Love the content!!! Awsome!!!!
This was a very well done catch and cook video! I just recently moved to Florida and have been watching videos about crabbing on the St Johns river. After watching this video I now feel comfortable to give it a shot!! Any suggestions and what to look for on my fish finder when placing the traps? Depths? Cover? And help would be greatly appreciated 🙏
Your going to enjoy crabbing and you can do it year round in Florida. We find the best crabbing on the St John's in 14-18 feet of water the shallower areas seem to have smaller crabs. You should see other crab traps (buoys) in the area, we try to stay away from other peoples traps and find out own area. Good luck with your crabbing. Check out our other crab videos. Thanks for Watching
I`m a Born Bred Floridian of almost 65 yrs. Count Down. Never Crabbed I Freshwater and Saltwater Fish I go to Sabastien Inlet. Is it easier to Bend over the Boat to get the Bouy by Hand than using a short Gaff. That`s the only way to go is to Fry them Crab Cakes. I Subbed so I can see more of these Enjoyed it.
The Carolina Skiff has low sides and I splice a loop on top of the buoy so it's not hard to reach but on our Sea Hunt we use a boat hook. Thanks a lot for Watching
We are avid watchers as we are soon starting our blue crabbing journey 😅and I just wondered how you store the pulled 🦀 meat -freezer-because you catch a lot at a time?!
@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors Also the bait last longer with full size traps since the crabs try to escape by swimming upward into the upper parlor which isolates the crabs from the lower baited area.

I thought I read somewhere that you can`t use those full size traps. I was bummed because thats what we own.
They're legal in Florida your allowed 5 per person no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet, check with FWC. Thanks for Watching
Joyce is fine as frogs hair
Are still in the 16-18' water depth this time of year?
Yes they are and Thanks for Watching
Do you see any difference between full and half traps?
I prefer full size traps because it's harder for the crabs to get out, even with full size traps some still escape. Thanks for Watching

Justin Case. Do you make your own crab traps.
Justin, the only traps I'm building are wood stone crab traps the blue crab traps we buy. Thanks for Watching
Why do they bubble? Excuse my ignorance.
When they're breathing out of the water and their gills are moist they blow bubbles. Thanks a lot for Watching
How many crabs make a meal?
It depends on how meaty the crabs are sometimes they're poor. Usually 4 for each person if they're heavy. Thanks for Watching
Show the eating part!
Sometimes we do. Thanks a lot for Watching
