Bloody amazing episode. Big Mac in his Loctite days was when I first got my mind blown by bike racing and it's stayed blown... thank you Rob. I hope your kids get a full factory racquet deal and tear tennis a new one!
What a brilliant bloke, raced against him back in his Fast Orange days and he was super smooth and a really decent chap to the rest of us mere mortals. (I say raced against, more like was on the same track as him at approximately the same time ).
Hey Chris cool story I bet there is a ton of stories you could tell from that era! PS notice your name, are you related to Jamie Perrin who race's over in England? (Supersport I think)
@@jaybuxton2475 unfortunately not related to Jamie and he's far more talented than I ever was. But had some great times racing on the same track as Carl Fogarty, Ron Haslam, Steve Hislop, John Reynolds, Jamie Whitham, Chris Walker etc. etc. on a private OW01. Did quite well in the wet but everywhere else I struggled.
This man is a legend. He gave Schwantz a physical pasting apparently and the others a mental one. Straight talking solid guy. The kind of man you'd trust to babysit your kids. No higher honor than that.
This would never happen in america, can you imagine a maths teacher and the village idiot interviewing Kevin schwantz, I dreamt of being in the r6 cup and was so good to here the story behind it, best one so far boys
Sounds like Rob Mac could have went all night spillin' the beans on the racing paddock and I would have listened intently! The amount of talent that came through the R6 Cup was tremendous. It blazed a trail that sadly isn't around anymore and I wish that something like that was still going. Great Podcast guys! (I knew of the broken leg incident with Jamie W and I was wondering if he was going to mention that!)
Brilliant interview love hearing stories from these “old boys” from my youth.
Great show lads, Rob Mac what a star man. Another ex rider who should have written a book.
Brilliant. Followed Rob Mac’s career. Great trip down memory lane. The guys still a legend.
What a dude, first class.

Rob is a legend, I’ve still got a Fast Orange paddock jacket in the loft somewhere. Another great episode guys, keep them coming.
