    Do you know if the seats from the MK4 estate will fit in the MK4 hatchback?

      The rear bases won't you need to swap over the frame from underneath

      No you need the wiring loom, it goes from the seat to the buttons to the fuse box.

    Any advise plz, just want to swap my seats front and back from my golf mk4 5door 2003. to be replaced with seats from vw boro
    5 door around same year, will i have any issues with this swap? Neither are heated. is it completely necessary to disconnect the
    battery to do this>? many thanks

    • @meatmanifesto
      @meatmanifesto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Should be a straight swap over as shown in the video, you don't have to disconnect the battery but it's HIGHLY recommended when working with airbags. When they pop you'll have a bad day 💯

    Is it possible to run the car without the seats attached? I need to move it about 50 meters down into a garage and I would like to have brakes to do so..

    im going from 2001 jetta GLX, electronic leather/heated front seats (I live in south Florida so no need for heated seats and the leather is really bad) switching to the mk4 GTI Recaro cloth front seats. Will they be compatible, minus a few electrical connections?

    • @meatmanifesto
      @meatmanifesto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Should fit straight in, over in the UK post 2000 models all have the same airbag connectors

      I kinda wish I did I remember the switches loom was wrapped around other wires and disappeared into the dash, maybe worth taking the dash out but good luck.

      I have a different MK4 golf now I may get another doner car and do it again properly

    • @khamboo
      @khamboo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah heard the loom is all over the place but I'm hoping that as this is a doner car I can just smash my way through. If not I have found an aftermarket loom for £50.
      Thanks for the tips

      @@meatmanifesto Okay so I have question if you know the answer. Do all the MK4 front seats just plug and play? For the heated seats. I have an 02 Golf and looking to connect two leather front seats from a Jetta. I believe it's an 01-03.

    • @meatmanifesto

    Great video m8, I have a question tho; so I have a 01 golf mk4 tdi with pretty much all the specs the car could get and im looking to replace the cloth heated seats to leather ones from a jetta/bora (not the same year but around 01-03) which also has pretty much all specs (most importantly the leather seats are also heated). So basically I just want to know will the swap be plug and play easy or complicated. If you could share some info on that I would greatly appreciate it! Again great video m8.

    • @meatmanifesto
      @meatmanifesto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1998-2000 Golfs have different airbag connectors to 2001 onwards. So as long as they're both 2001 onwards should be a straight swap over.
      Thanks
