As a cis women I wouldn't mind sharing bathroom spaces with cis straight men. I could get robbed in the women's toilets by a cis straight women. The problem isn't the people's gender or sexuality. It's the security of the bathroom. I.e. a mixed gender toilet in a busy kfc with cubicle doors and walls to the floor feels much safer than seperate gender toilets in the middle of know where that only gets checked at night when they close

I'm bi and I define bisexuality as attraction to people who are the same and different genders to myself, so this organization's usage of bisexuality as only an attraction to cis men and women is infuriating and misguided to say the least.

It's simply that they may have a preference for one gender or feel attraction towards different genders differently, while pan people are indifferent towards gender.

I think there are/were many cultures that believed in a third gender but due to colonisation and the westernisation the third gender became taboo. Also, and I love bringing this up, it was mostly trans women being arrested at Stonewall that led to the riot. Of course, it was a lesbian who was the catalyst for the riot, but the build up was trans women. And it was mostly trans women who were hurt. If you don't believe me, look up a primary source. A lot of people think it was gay men, because in primary sources they're referred to as drag queens, but that was just because that was the best language they had at the time to describe trans people. I wrote an entire essay on it for my history class. (My professor said write about any historical event so of course I picked Stonewall.)

This sounds like the same nonsense that was being spouted about Bi people when I was in my twenties 40 years ago. Apparently I couldn't be Bi because there was no such thing. I dont know anything about LGB Alliance, and have no clue about them, but I have to make a confession to you. I am a gay guy, 60yo. I was a bit upset that 'gay' had been lumped in an envelope with 'trans'. I personally do not know any trans ppl, so have always been a bit creeped out by it. I wasnt a "transphobe", I just didnt want to think about it, and none of my gay friends ever talked about the subject. In the past few years, I have met 2 FTM trans guys and have been doing a lot of reading, listening, and watching TH-cam vids. (such as yours). Coming out a gay man in the 70's wasnt much fun. The people in my life were pretty much homophobic, but they loved me and accepted it. So I figured, me being exclusive of trans people was a bit selfish and ignorant. Michael, one of my trans friends, has taught me things that I have been willfully blind to. I believe that ALL of us in the LGBT+ community NEEDS to support each other. Set aside whatever bias we may have, and speak with one voice. If we all stand together, we will make a difference. That is how I feel.

I'm a cis woman and my ex is a trans woman. I used to be so over protective of her when we went to the toilets in what I would consider non LGBT safe spaces. I was more stressed than she was about it. I was just waiting for something negative to happen but it never did. Be it the V&A , London bars and theatres, it was always positive. I just don't see how the T fits in. I really don't. They're completely separate subjects. Just because both are oppressed minorities does not make them allies. As long as you don't talk about it and just go, I highly doubt anyone will question you. If you're concerned, look for a Target store. They have store policies in place to allow everyone to use the restroom and changing room they identify with.

You can't tell someone what *their* identity is, not to mention that you don't seem to be using the correct definitions. Bi people's attraction isn't limited to two genders. It's simply that they may have a preference for one gender or feel attraction towards different genders differently, while pan people are indifferent towards gender.

Also, and I love bringing this up, it was mostly trans women being arrested at Stonewall that led to the riot. Of course, it was a lesbian who was the catalyst for the riot, but the build up was trans women. And it was mostly trans women who were hurt. If you don't believe me, look up a primary source. A lot of people think it was gay men, because in primary sources they're referred to as drag queens, but that was just because that was the best language they had at the time to describe trans people. I wrote an entire essay on it for my history class. (My professor said write about any historical event so of course I picked Stonewall.)

I dont know anything about LGB Alliance, and have no clue about them, but I have to make a confession to you. I am a gay guy, 60yo. I was a bit upset that 'gay' had been lumped in an envelope with 'trans'. I personally do not know any trans ppl, so have always been a bit creeped out by it. I wasnt a "transphobe", I just didnt want to think about it, and none of my gay friends ever talked about the subject. In the past few years, I have met 2 FTM trans guys and have been doing a lot of reading, listening, and watching TH-cam vids. (such as yours).
Coming out a gay man in the 70's wasnt much fun. The people in my life were pretty much homophobic, but they loved me and accepted it.
So I figured, me being exclusive of trans people was a bit selfish and ignorant.

I was more stressed than she was about it. I was just waiting for something negative to happen but it never did. Be it the V&A , London bars and theatres, it was always positive. You cover this and topics like this very well in your videos. I can't even express how terrible it makes me feel that there's so much in-fighting within the lgbt community. But nonetheless, this is the reality we live in and all we can do is try out best to educate those who need it... Like this group. It seems to me that these groups and individuals claiming to be political or other activists are just spewing hate in the name of social justice and it gives legitimate activists a really bad rep because no one wants to do any type of research for themselves and just take someone else's word for it. That's why I love that you often have your sources listed so that people like me who are interested in learning more about a certain subject can not only see that you did your due diligence, but also educate and inform ourselves. I just don't see how the T fits in. I really don't. They're completely separate subjects. Just because both are oppressed minorities does not make them allies. I can understand the frustration because the LGB community has done so much and struggled so hard to now be presented with yet another "challenge" (sorry). There should be a separate movement.

As long as you don't talk about it and just go, I highly doubt anyone will question you. If you're concerned, look for a Target store. They have store policies in place to allow everyone to use the restroom and changing room they identify with.

The mental gymnastics that people go through to justify their bigotry astounds me sometimes. It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest, it just baffles me when I think about the pure stupidity people force on themselves to make themselves feel valid in their bigotry. Like, they assume that men would go through the trouble of changing their entire gender identity purely to creep on/sexually assault women, which is illegal no matter what gender you or your victim are, (notice how no one is concerned about trans men in the men’s room). If I were a man I’d be very insulted, yet it seems to be a lot of old men making this argument. I’d be more concerned about them assuming all men are predators, because it says a lot about them.
