I’m pretty sure from my time playing the game (I maybe wrong) that a set one plays depending on the area. I.e pink street has its own theme

Oh, it's dependent on the gang you are fighting, each one has like 2 themes, each gang is in it's own part of Kamurocho

Each gang has their own theme.
Die Anyway is the default battle theme for non-gang members. It also plays against Tenma in the boss rush.
