- Former Machakos County First Lady Lilian Ng’ang’a is now calling on the government to institute criminal investigations against her ex-husband Governor Alfred Mutua whom she accuses of threatening her life.
In a press briefing Thursday morning, Lilian, who was accompanied by lawyer Philip Murgor, made damning allegations, claiming that Governor Mutua had vowed to “finish” and “crush her to ash,” following their separation a few months ago.
Lilian, hear this from a much older woman. Truth be told, you have totally mishandled the breakup. You have lived with Mutua for the last almost ten years, he gave you a luxurious life, status and honour....... the First Lady of Machakos County. Breaking up with him is ok (reasons, non of our business). It is what you have done after leaving that is wrong. You have literally thrown mud to his face, humiliated him in public. A man NEVER goes down without a fight. If you decide to take him on, be prepared.....it can get very ugly. He has the bones and muscles. Choose your battles carefully.....and remember some are not even worth fighting as they can leave you physically and mentally broken. Money and property are not worth the quality of your life. Leave empty handed and WORK to build yourself. Remember you cannot have your cake and eat it. As for gavana Mutua, KARMA IS A BITCH...... and your first wife is watching from a front seat as the drama unfolds.

Ms Ngang'a will be alright if the law is followed. Common-law partnerships are valid in Kenyan law and, given that she is not asking for a share of 'matrimonial' property, but property in her own name, it is hard to see how Mutua gets away with his vindictive and juvenile behavior.
