Josh, I've been following your channel for years. I write this respectfully.... You're always informative and professional but your demeanor is more relaxed and enjoyable this year. Jessica was terrific. She and Myles have been really fun additions to your channel.
What an incredible landing; almost like watching Air Force 1. And yes, Jessica's voice is clear as a bell and her radio calls were perfect. Loved having her on your show.
I fueled you guys up when you came back to Hooks that night at Gill Aviation! That is a very popular route for pilots and students to take down to Galveston and is even better at night!
Jessica was fun have on the video, obviously this was child's play to her! Pretty cools shots on the way. I like night videos so looking forward to the one on the way back.
Great reminders on "use of checklists on everything".....I lived in Houston for 7 years 1990-1997....and the availability of great seafood is killer!! I enjoy your channel.....
I have done my PPL training at Hooks airport in the year 2015 and it is so exciting to see the airport and the memorable I-10 corridor again. I once took my friends to Galveston and they all felt amazed by the beauty of downtown Houston. Great film.
I was one of his “friends “ who were on board that day. It was amazing and still unbelievable to me now. It was like a once-a-lifetime experience and thank you Daniel, for everything. 494Juliet bravo, clear to take off at runway XXX
Josh, back to the year of 2016, I had the previlege to aboard a Cessna under the control of my captain Daniel, and co-pilot David for the same route from Hooks to Galvesten you have shown in this terffic vedio. That trip leaves me the memories of forever. Life, sometimes, is a bumpy trip, but we are ready to take-off.
2:27 - Now I'm realizing my first flight instructor was kidding when he said at this point, "we do a quick hammerhead turn and land the other way..." Awesome video, and professional as always.
Nothing like a $150 seafood dinner flight via I-10 / Houston skyline / great right seater. Take care and enjoy the Texas weather. Freezing rain / snow up here in NW. IL. Take care / be safe ...
Born and raised in Houston, I liked identifying downtown spots. I spotted Kehma off the right side past the monument and spent many weekends growing up in Galveston. Really great listening to radio traffic. Thanks.
Back when I got my private in 1995 I used to love to fly from Monroe (KEQY) to Charlotte (KCLT). We'd transverse the Bravo in December to fly across Charlotte and see the McAdenville Christmas lights from the air, and on July 4th, we'd orbit downtown Charlotte at 1000 to 1500 AGL, (there would normally be 3-4 airplanes doing the same thing) and watch the fireworks. I can't imagine Charlotte approach would allow that anymore. I love seeing a large city from the air and at night is even better. On this past December 18th, I finally got back to flying after a 20 year hiatus, I'm just now getting comfortable on the radios again and I am working on my instrument rating, Can't wait for the next video
I’ve flown with Jessica, and she’s a great pilot. I love flying the i-10 corridor at night. Once you pass downtown, approach usually gives you direct to GLS
Hey oh! David Wayne Hooks is where I fly out of...so cool to see my home airfield and hear the familiar voices of the controllers on your TH-cam channel!
RocketMan I haven’t seen them at Hooks but almost all of my flights are after dark...I love seeing the downtown city lights! I do see plenty of Black Hawks buzzing around over the city during the day though.
Brings back memories. Learned to fly at West Houston Airport (KIWS) which was called Lakeside Airport back then. Back then Hooks was a lazy country airport, non-towered, one runway, and a gathering place for a lot of vintage aircraft. The sight of final at Galveston is distantly familiar as I shot many ILS’s to that airport getting my instrument rating. It was my first actual missed when at DA the visibility was almost zero with a torrential downpour.
Fellow Houstonian here, that was so cool!!! It looks so beautiful from a plane. I used to know where Hooks is but forgot, I'll have to look it up. I love plane spotting.
Hooks! I used to live about 3 miles from that airport on Boudreaux. There were a few warbirds that would land there so I got to show my kids. Aviator's Grill is awesome too!
Was in Hooks last September and damn, that place is no joke busy. Approach had us descend almost 20 miles out and we were only in a 182rg. But I'll say if you can stay on the ball there, you can fly anywhere. Keep this content rolling!!!
KDWH is my airport! I'm currently training there and working my way up to my commercial license! It is an incredibly busy airport since we're right outside the Houston Bravo and there's 5 flight schools right there. Glad you enjoyed your flight! My second cross country was to Galveston from KDWH
Wonderful video of the Houston/Galveston area. Having just left that area after some 50 years there and moving back to Woodville, next time I highly recommend touching down at LaPorte and having your seafood dinner at the Monument Inn there by the Battleship Texas. Really great food and the restaurant sets right on the Houston ship channel and the ships are coming in and out of the channel quite regularly. Makes for great viewing. Thanks for sharing. Really good stuff.
Flying the corridor in Houston was always fun. Would sometimes see jets hauling ass through there at 2000 ft vfr not talking to anyone. Had to really keep your head on a swivel.
Oh, man. This brought back many fond memories of flying the I-10 corridor from Skylakes in Waller, Texas, to the Gulf. La Porte Municipal and then on to Scholes Field. Great fun. Waiting for the night flight back to Hooks!
KDWH is my stomping grounds! It is a very busy airport and the Houston Class B is also very busy but fun to navigate. I have done that same flight numerous times and it never gets old. One of my favorite night flights through Houston is on July 4th, admiring all the fireworks from the air. Cant beat it! Glad you enjoyed your trip to Houston.
Working on my PPL...at 27 hours at the moment...I really appreciate your videos Josh...and Jessica is a great "co-pilot" for you...you should keep her around...:)
I've driven the I-10 corridor countless times in the last 40+ years but it's never looked as good as it does from an aircraft. I really enjoyed this one and I'm looking forward to the night flight
Thanks! Bad weather week in New York and this video perfectly made me want to get out there and fly. There's always next week! Also got two new checklist items for my custom checklist from your vid. Pitot heat off after landing and brakes firm before landing.
Great video Josh. Good to see you flying over my backyard. I fly out of West Houston and Galveston is a usual $100 burger destination. Although I enjoyed the vfr corridor many times, nowadays I’d rather take the longer route to avoid flying below 2000’ over densely populated areas in a single engine plane. Maybe I’m getting old lol!!
Learning to fly at hooks was nuts. I could always count on extending a downwind Citations and Challengers tracking the loc when I was in the pattern. Even if that didn’t happen, the other GA traffic was heavy to say the least. It’s a good airport to learn at! I’m kind of geeking out about seeing a video of you there. Love the videos!
Josh I'm a fan of yours! What I love about this video the most is that it was a great opening to an Aviation Soap. Called "Flying100%" Starting Capt.Josh & First Officer Jessica That be a badass sitcom. I like your professionalism, if it was me it would of been an overnight flight with a RedEye, or BlackEye. You guys look good together.
Awesome video!! You guys are in my backyard!! I have flown that exact route more than once!!! So much fun!! The I-10 VFR corridor right by downtown is an easy way to get from one side of Houston to anywhere....either direction east/west! If I'd have known you guys were in Galveston, I'd have picked you up and taken you to Gaidos on the seawall!! Great seafood!! 🍤
Enjoyed the video. My home airport is KSGR and I did my IFR checkride at KDWH and I fly to Galveston frequently - so the video was specially interesting for me.
Josh Brother welcome to my neck of the woods! You guys took the Houston corridor, practically flew over La Porte. Next time you're done this way, let me know. I spend a lot of time up in your neck of the woods these days. Flying Merlins out of San Antonio. My house things have changed since 5 years ago
Absolutely amazing professional flying at high standards, now, I have my new standards, of course a great co-pilot doesn’t hurt, either, again, congrats, loved it. Subbed. Naturally.
Student pilots out of DWH always do that as their night cross country and it’s really neat to fly by downtown. You get great training as a student out of DWH!
This is so great I was always chicken and broke in my younger days to get my license but I never passed up a chance to fly with a friend in small aircraft out of bird'snest airport just north of Austin
Used to fly from DWH all the time back in the day, love to see you departing from there. When I was a TRACON fella before retirement I'd tell folks departing DWH to follow Beltway 8 south to I-10 eastbound exactly what you flew. Wonder why GLS Tower asked for a five mile final report when they have a tower display with a feed from the TRACON? Maybe she didn't trust it. :)
Love the total dedication to the checklists.
Appreciate the professionalism and the pre takeoff briefing. Even small singles deserve to be flown with respect.
Josh, I've been following your channel for years. I write this respectfully.... You're always informative and professional but your demeanor is more relaxed and enjoyable this year. Jessica was terrific. She and Myles have been really fun additions to your channel.

Jess's radio calls were so clear, very nice!
She is wonderfull, what a voice... You need her on your next vlogs.
Don’t forget to introduce us to the restaurant, it’s decor, menus, etc. We need to see where you go and what you do. That’s also part of the fun.
Great reminders on "use of checklists on everything".....I lived in Houston for 7 years 1990-1997....and the availability of great seafood is killer!! I enjoy your channel.....

Great flight. Love how you don't cut out the part when you are talking to the Tower.
"Houston, we didn't have a problem!"
Sweet downtown fly-by.
Gotta love a fellow Texan who designs so many flights around good Texas Seafood or BBQ !!!!
Thats my go to spot for taking people on lunch runs. Love KGLS!
2:27 - Now I'm realizing my first flight instructor was kidding when he said at this point, "we do a quick hammerhead turn and land the other way..."
Awesome video, and professional as always.
I've flown to GLS many many times. Did my first solo cross country out there. So much fun flying the Texas coast! Another great video!
Wow, great flight and Jessica is one lovely right seat addition. She'd make anyone's day a bright one!
Thanks for the ride. Great friend - beautiful country.
Nothing like a $150 seafood dinner flight via I-10 / Houston skyline / great right seater. Take care and enjoy the Texas weather. Freezing rain / snow up here in NW. IL. Take care / be safe ...
NW IL eh? Thats me as well.
Born and raised in Houston, I liked identifying downtown spots. I spotted Kehma off the right side past the monument and spent many weekends growing up in Galveston. Really great listening to radio traffic. Thanks.
Great to see some of your friends flying with you.
LOVE Hooks! Close to where I live. Love watching the old planes fly in. Yes it is a busy busy airport!
Back when I got my private in 1995 I used to love to fly from Monroe (KEQY) to Charlotte (KCLT). Good to see 991 in the air again and pretty smile sitting next too you! Thanks for sharing!
I’ve flown with Jessica, and she’s a great pilot. I love flying the i-10 corridor at night. Once you pass downtown, approach usually gives you direct to GLS
How?
Glad to see 991 back in action!
Great video....I wanted a closer look at what you guys had for dinner....looking forward to the night flight and the pics of Houston.
From the preview I can't wait to see your video of the return trip. Awesome!
Hey oh! David Wayne Hooks is where I fly out of...so cool to see my home airfield and hear the familiar voices of the controllers on your TH-cam channel!
IWS here.
Keith DiSarno Hey bud! I live just up the road from there...City Centre to be exact! 👍🏻✈️
We used to fly Black Hawks into DWH all the time when I was stationed at Ft. Hood. Great place to get lunch! Do they still come in there?
RocketMan I haven’t seen them at Hooks but almost all of my flights are after dark...I love seeing the downtown city lights! I do see plenty of Black Hawks buzzing around over the city during the day though.
Mine too!
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC video ... great POVs, especially the zoomed parts ... great place ... thanks man for this !!!
I did my discovery flight out of KDWH and my training out of KSGR. Always fun to see aviation channels flying around here!
I'm into Jessica. Hope she's on more vlogs.
it's great the way you describe everything you're doing for take-off and landing. Really good instruction.
Brings back memories. Learned to fly at West Houston Airport (KIWS) which was called Lakeside Airport back then. A work of art landing, Josh!

My dad and I have done this exact flight before. I-10 Corridor is sweet! Thanks for visiting H-town!
Great scenery and communication between you both.
KDWH is my airport! I'm currently training there and working my way up to my commercial license! It is an incredibly busy airport since we're right outside the Houston Bravo and there's 5 flight schools right there. Glad you enjoyed your flight! My second cross country was to Galveston from KDWH

It's hard to beat the Monument Inn for some good seafood. Nice views of the Lynchburg ferries, too! :-)
Flying the corridor in Houston was always fun. Would sometimes see jets hauling ass through there at 2000 ft vfr not talking to anyone. Had to really keep your head on a swivel.
Jessica is awesome, i love hooks airport. great video, maybe you can do a video to beaumont one day.
Gear up! Another great video Josh.
Thanks to you and a friend my dream of flying has been rekindled. I'm planning on starting training later this year. Thanks
That landing was like butter! Your nose gear loves you.
Oh, man. This brought back many fond memories of flying the I-10 corridor from Skylakes in Waller, Texas, to the Gulf. La Porte Municipal and then on to Scholes Field. Great fun. Waiting for the night flight back to Hooks!
Great camera angle on hands at landing. The little moves to make it smooth
Wonderful guys @ TEXAS FLIGHT. Rented from them on a flight to Austin. And yes it’s a busy Class Delta airspace for sure. Thanks for sharing
I do love flying through that corridor. I especially love looking down at the gridlock and being supremely happy that I'm above it and not in it :)
Another awesome freakin flight! Looking forward to the return hight flight, skirting around the busy Houston Bravo airspace.
blew! Love the I10 VFR Corridor! I used it in my C120 on Bellville to Laporte commute.
Nice light touch on the controls. Great Vid.
Best GA content on youtube.
Awesome. Love flying the corridor. Ha, I was in Galveston the same time eating lunch with a friend and then went to the movies.
Working on my PPL...at 27 hours at the moment...I really appreciate your videos Josh...and Jessica is a great "co-pilot" for you...you should keep her around...:)

Hooks is my home airport. I live about 2 miles south of there. Nice to see some familiar territory.
What beautiful colors!
Thanks! Bad weather week in New York and this video perfectly made me want to get out there and fly. There's always next week! Also got two new checklist items for my custom checklist from your vid. Pitot heat off after landing and brakes firm before landing.

Josh, great video, I was born in and lived in Houston and the Houston area up until I retired and moved to Canyon Lake in 08!
Awesome cockpit management, that’s what keeps me out of busy airspace, you talk faster than this old boy can think Lol... super nice flying
You are correct. The I-10 corridor is amazing at night!
thank you for this quality video and for this plane ride.
Nice video. Great view of the city. Look forward to the view at night.
Great video Josh. It was nice seeing familiar areas from the air. Keep up the great work!

Nice, smooth flight.
I am new student pilot in FL and I loved the flight can’t wait to see the night flight. also you guys make the radio calls seem so easy.

This is a good video, looking forward to the night flight back
Absolutely amazing professional flying at high standards, now, I have my new standards, of course a great co-pilot doesn’t hurt, either, again, congrats, loved it. Subbed. Naturally.
Great video. I like to think it will help me traverse busy air space.
Was Reba McIntyre the ATC in Galveston?
Is There Life Out There? She's just wondering if there's life out there™
I fly from there all the time there is a VFR corridor between 10 and 610.
Student pilots out of DWH always do that as their night cross country and it’s really neat to fly by downtown. You get great training as a student out of DWH!
I can vouch for that haha!
Super cool to maneuvering in class b in H-tine.
The sharpest brains in the internet. Amazing how they go through the checklist
i also have an cesssna the cessna Citation CJ3+
its a little newer than the 127
This is so great I was always chicken and broke in my younger days to get my license but I never passed up a chance to fly with a friend in small aircraft out of bird'snest airport just north of Austin
Great video Josh!
Geeking a bit. When you made your turn to follow I-10, I could see my house from the camera view.
Used to fly from DWH all the time back in the day, love to see you departing from there. When I was a TRACON fella before retirement I'd tell folks departing DWH to follow Beltway 8 south to I-10 eastbound exactly what you flew. Great canons
Welcome to Houston! I thought ATC would have you fly IFR (I follow roads) from I-10 to 45 all the way to Galveston.
Nice flight...
Just makes me want to finish school faster 😂
Same haha
See you in the sky mate
