The actor who did "Lewis" is the unsung hero of this skit. He encapsulated perfectly with his body language the mentality of a floor manager or a studio crew person. Like: "I need to help but I also need to be out of frame, stay behind the scenes". The result is a character that behaves awkwardly and is extremely apologetic without saying a single word. Genius.
