Hey, SO im having a bit of a problem trying to get this to work. Cannot open it. The file may not exist or its format not supported. I also got another message after the initial " Cdi could not be registered." The other message says" Some file exstensions may not be associated
Hey Jamie, My mom bought me my CD-i in like 92' at Sears. I absolutely loved it. I was such a fan of Burn:Cycle, Inca, Hall of fame football, The encyclopedia, and so many more. I also remember being able to watch all my CD-i movies too. I just remember watching Forrest Gump A Lot! This emulator takes me back. I cant wait to play Burn:Cycle again. My issue so far is the whole Bios thing. You kind of just mentioned it and moved on. I am confused. What is it and where do I get it?
Bios is essentially its operating system..without it you cannot run it. You can Google search this. I am not permitted to link you by rules of TH-cam. Or. If you have a machine. You can extract via that method.
I'm kinda trying to set a controller up here because everything is controlled by the Mouse instead of the Keyboard for some reason and there's no controller settings...
The object is to close all the doors. You have to crush enemies because they re-open the doors. Collect coins along the way. It's kind of like the OG Mario Brothers, not Super Mario Brothers... Where you're on platforms and jumping around to collect things, only you're closing doors here. It's not BAD, it's just not Super Mario Brothers as we've come to know it. Also, I can't seem to get the 220 rom working, I got the 220b to work but it seems, WAY off the animation is out of sync with the audio and the game plays, oddly fast. just enough to notice.
Do you know if there is a way to get around the DVC for this emulator? Is there a rom file that I can put it that will act as the added memory? Thank you!
А huge number of good CD-i games, like Mutant Rampage: BodySlam or Dragon's Lair, require a Digital Video Cartridge add-on, without which the games do not work. It is very strange that at the moment no one has been able to programmatically emulate this module.
Tried this out as I wanted to play the Zelda games. With Links Awakening and Wand of Gamelon the cutscenes play at like 10x speed with no sound then sound starts a few minutes later. Zeldas Adventure does not load at all just a blue screen. Any advice? I am using the program version and BIOS file from the video. I have tried a few other BIOS files and games do not load at all. I know these games are horrible, but they have eluded me for a long time, and it seems like it takes an act of God to be able to play them.
Yup. I get you. They aren't great. It's a case of experimenting with the bios files and messing with settings. This is the best CD-i standalone out there and agreed it has its flaws. You are probably best using a frontend with a retroarch using a CD-i core to be honest. I have guides for retrobat, retroarch, and launchbox in my playlists.
Is there a way to get this to use a controller instead of a mouse? It seems like it only uses a mouse. Maybe it uses X input or something? I was trying to use a PS5 controller.
@@JustJamie1983 I used a Buffalo game pad and it worked. The emulator does not quite work perfectly. It locks up the 7th Guest if you click the mouse at the beginning.
Yup. Its not perfect by any means but it is pretty much the only emulator out there that is half decent. The developer hasn't touched it some time now.
@@JustJamie1983 Halfway decent? It's far from it. MAME has managed to do a better job than cdiemu. Even if it doesn't have DVC support, it has better control settings, and it's not paid.

Use Virtual Controller to bind keyboard buttons to a third-party controller. Although I would recommend MAME, it has better control support even if it doesn't have DVC support.
Yes, but since it is not complete and does not have an emulator as such, half of the games have many emulation problems, especially in the sound section.
@@JustJamie1983 hey! I did try looking for information on the controls on the website and unfortunately there’s nothing available. I’m going to try using a usb controller and see if that works! Love the video btw! Helped me get everything up and running!

Virtual Controller, a program that maps your keyboard to buttons on a third-party controller, is great for playing emulators and games that don't recognize your controller.
The game works, but since DVC emulation is not complete yet, the game has many sound problems, especially clipping, other games like Atlantis: The last Resort, Lucky Luke, Solar Crusade, Mutant Rampage also have these sound problems, but yes, they are emulatable. Except Lucky Luke, which crashes after about 20 seconds.
I don't understand. I'm talking about the quality of emulation this program does and from what I tried 10 years ago it barely worked. none of the games run smoothly. unless it's changed recently?@@JustJamie1983

Why would they make a game about closing doors with Mario? At least we have the best moment in TH-cam! Bless this game!

It will be likely an issue with the firmware. Try a different version.
