Excellent Job...need more sessions on CEA guidelines, Power System protection, power system modelling , testing and commissioning of substation and Power System stability’s
As usual, Broad way of teaching, Seeing everyone electrical nerves by teaching. Rocks!! Pls use Tags in title such as #Powersystem #shortcircuitstudies #Powerprojects #Electrical that can find this video easily who are searching related topics.
Can you please confirm my understanding that faults "Close to Generator" & " Far from Generator" would be decided by the ETAP software as an inbuilt function of ETAP?
All equipments in Power system offers constant impedance during the fault except generator which has time varying impedance (Xd", Xd' & Xd). If you provide correct values of these parameters along with their time constant Td0" & Td0' you will get the proper results in all simulation softwares
In my short circuit report from ETAP, Making capacity of device > ip (calculated) Ib sym of device > Ib sym (calculated) Ib asym of device > Ib asym (calculated) Idc < Idc (calculated) -- shows alert I think since the calculated "Ib asym" includes the decaying dc component, I can ignore the device Idc being less than Idc(calculated) or Should I replace the breaker with higher rating or ask the manufacturer to provide higher time constant breakers
You need to look at the DC Breaking capacity of the breaker at the instant of breaker opening (Not at t=0) Still if DC current is more either you have to replace the breaker or intentionally delay the breaker for one or two cycles.
Is there any paper or journal which clearly differentiate between IEEE and IEC standard for Short Circuit Study of Power system? So, someone who is working with ANSI system, these lectures will be more helpful to them as well.
@@PowerProjects_etap I am not asking about arc flash study. I am asking about internal arc compliance requirement it is stated something in IEC 62271-200
In 33 kV or some other voltage level.. Main bus is quad moose acsr and transfer bus is twin moose acsr.. Why.. How we decide which one is quad or twin....
While performing Short circuit studies, you will get Ibsym Idc Ibasym ip Choose the breaker capacity in such a way that the breaker is capable of interrupting Idc
Depends on the NGR Value. If the NGR on HV side limits the fault current less than the current limited by LV NGR then it may have an impact. In general we may not have such scenario in real time.

Will plan shortly
Very Informative & Awesome Explanation.i have Been following on every platform.Kindly upload latest webinars on the channels.
Excellent content and would like get more topics on power system studies. It's really appreciated.
More to come!
Excellent Session and very knowledgeable content. Great to refresh our knowledge.
Glad you liked it
Sir Hats off to you!!!! What a informative webinar it is!
Thanks a ton

Thanks Anand.. Its the first online session.... Long way to go....
100% Sure
Very Informative & Awesome Explanation, Thanks for the video session sir.
Most welcome
Congratulations. Long awaited for this session. Keep rocking.
Thanks a lot
Thank you. Very informative.
Thank you for this very informative session sir👏
Always welcome
Very informative and intuitive towards the short circuit studiesof power system....
Thanks a lot Gopinath
Impeccably Excellent, similarly make video on DC fault calculations.
Thanks, will do!
Impeccably Excellent, also series fault, relay co-ordination charts
Thanks for listening
How to decide short circuit current 31.5 kA or 40 kA for 132kv substation. What inputs are needed for calculation.
Very Good session
Thank you sir, great content
Welcome!
Amazing session, please upload more! or can you send recorded session by email?
We are starting AskSelva Session from 22nd November 2020 again. You can stay tuned in the channel.

Thanks for listening
Wonderful explained
Glad it was helpful!
use full information, nice explanation...
Thanks a lot
Congratulations sir good effort 👌. BE completed year typed wrongly 20006 instead 2006.
Thanks a for correction. Updated for upcoming sessions

Where i can get a participation cetificate of this online session ?
There will not be any participant certificate for TH-cam sessions

System study deals with internal arc withstand current of switchgear or how to design internal arc withstand current of switchgear?
We will schedule a session on Arc flash shortly
@@PowerProjects_etap I am not asking about arc flash study. I am asking about internal arc compliance requirement it is stated something in IEC 62271-200
Great content...
Thanks a lot Ezhil
Love it
Which method of calculating R/X ratio is typically used for short circuit calculations as per IEC 60909? Method A /Method B/ Method C?
Refer IEC 60909. Will discuss more in Upcomg #AskSelva

Can you share the details to skumar@powerprojectsindia.com. We will check and revert
How to choose IDC for 220 kv

Choose the breaker capacity in such a way that the breaker is capable of interrupting Idc
Sir, If there is a Star-Star Transformer with both side NGR connected.
Will an earth fault at say LV side be affected by HV side NGR.
Depends on the NGR Value. If the NGR on HV side limits the fault current less than the current limited by LV NGR then it may have an impact. In general we may not have such scenario in real time.
