Watching the opening of the Torquay lifting bridge in Torquay's harbour in the early evening. The bridge is protected with metal swing gates, alarms and flashing strobe beacons and opens on request by the Marina control (harbour master).

Nice one! All those people trying to run over at the beginning! Strange choice of tone for the alarm. It sounds like a Roshni sounder set for Dutch Fire Alarm.

Thank you! 👍 - There are only two alarms and two flashing strobes; and a small information board which perhaps no-one reads. I've never heard such an alarm tone on a bridge, so a strange choice indeed.

I thought it was funny when those walking over the bridge realised the alarm was sounding and ran like the clappers! That's how I run across bridges before an alarm sounds!

Is that strobe doing a single flash or a double flash? I can't quite tell because of the frame cutting.

It's a quick double flash every 1.5 ish seconds. The strobes were too quick for my camera unfortunately.
