i did theatre for quite a while and that much foundation still would be bad. You wouldnt be able to see all those fine lines from stage, but it will melt under those hot stage lights. what stage actors use (if its not just a normal amount of liquid foundation) is cream foundations (usually made by krylon or ben nye). idk if this is the same for drag but i imagine the routines are similar from each other foundationwise. all this to say there are easier, lighter, and cheaper ways to get that full of coverage without twenty pumps of liquid foundation (and its usually a cream foundation)
@@azurdlywisteriousi was thinking of Asian and South Asian theatre/dance where a large amount of face paint is used. Over a base. Although yes, insane amounts of face paint would melt under lights.
I used to do my foundation like this 10 years ago 💀 it was Estée Lauder Double Wear, and I’d set it with baby powder too. After a few hours I looked all cracked like a medieval oil painting. I couldn’t touch my nose because all you’d see were like pink splotches underneath where it had rubbed off. They were dark times indeed
As a professional makeup artist, I can’t stand the way Meredith does her makeup. That amount of makeup does the exact opposite. It will highlight and create texture and settle into every line. No matter how you set it because it never really sets. It also doesn’t really blend because blending implies that the product has somewhere to go. There is also so much foundation that any Cremes you put on top of it change color. Heavy makeup usually falls apart way faster than light makeup. I’m a firm believer that she does the 20 pumps and then wipes it off and uses a normal amount of foundation.
Uhhh that in the end there was exactly my thought when i first came across one of her vids! Well that and that all the makeup companies must love her cause the more product you use the more you‘ll have to buy. ✌🏻😬
Yes!! I’m so glad someone said this. I was about to say the same thing when I seen your comment. I even tried this the other day just for kicks and it gave me texture and lines that I never even noticed before. It was insane in natural light and within a few hours my makeup looked as if it was ice cream melting off my skin. It’s great for photos/videos with filter and good lighting, but that’s it.
She doesn’t wipe off the amount of makeup she applies. I have watched her do her entire face of makeup live on her social media, no jump cuts or pauses. She really does apply that much makeup. I do agree with you that it’s completely absurd.
When I was in my teens and 20s I caked the foundation on just like Meredith. She will realize once she starts seeing changes in her skin from age it won't look good anymore. I would say the last 2 years I can't cake the makeup on or it looks terrible when it use to be flawless with half a bottle on daily. She says she will never change her routine. Oh she will when that day comes.
I’m very good at makeup I use all good quality products and if I even put too much foundation on it will look like cakey crap after 6-7 hours lol there’s no way she doesn’t look crazy by the end of the day
This look reminds me a bit of stage makeup- at a distance it's really pretty but up close it has a garish effect. I was a ballet dancer growing up and I'd sometimes run into acquaintances right after a show... the look on their faces as they tried to process my 'look' was always priceless.
@sophdoeslife I'm not bloody surprised Soph 😳 hope it hasn't flared your eczema up too! You're a saint for trying & can only imagine the bloody nightmare getting all those thick layers OFF your face after the effort it was putting it on!! Take care lovely x
I have used the finger hack with my normal amount of foundation. It’s messy, but I think there’s something to it helping melt the product into your skin (just wash your hands first)
Seeing Meredith's vids was one of the first times I've felt like a Certified Adult because just seeing three seconds of her doing that routine put me off the whole idea of Tiktok 😂
Same here! Like “is this the kind of crap that goes on here?!” Then I uninstalled the app lol. It’s crazy because I have a younger daughter and she tries doing her makeup like this. I had to tell her that you don’t use that much.
I have painted portraits witr houseu h acrylics and oils for a long time. I learned makeup application through my l knowledge of fine art. And with both actual canvases and the face as a canvas, there is only so much room you have to blend a product out. If she was bald, there still wouldn’t be enough room to blend out anof the products she slathers on her face. She isn’t the Queen of Blending…she simply cuts away to take away the excess product. Claiming she doesn’t i edit before showing a final product, and that she doesn’t wipe away excess doesn’t make her a Queen of anything but FIBS!
@@brandybunting7258 I've never even seen a TikTok (unless it's a bit here and there on TH-cam) and know it's garbage. As soon as someone mentions 'they say on TikTok', I know it's untrue and most likely stupid. 😂
I never once thought of this as an actual tutorial when I’ve seen her videos, more like a performance. I find it hard to believe she’d do all that to go out for a normal dinner or to the shops. Her skin would be wrecked.
I agree. When it’s all blended you can tell it’s like she’s chopped it I don’t think she keeps it all on. She does it for the video then redoes her makeup to fake it blended all out
I would kill to see Meredith in person, there’s no way she doesn’t take it off and do her face with a normal amount and seeing her in person would be a dead give away
And this is what I call “cake face.” Or, “American kabuki makeup.” 😂 I had a friend, many years ago, who would do her makeup in very similar, *heavy handed* fashion. I let her do my makeup once before we went out somewhere, and it felt like a mask the entire night. I was hyper self-conscious about it, too. Didn’t help that her dad made fun of me before we left. 🙄 Safe to say that was the only time I let her do my makeup, lol. I still don’t know why she piled on so much foundation, she had nice skin naturally, and was naturally pretty, too. I guess maybe it was just because she could, it made her look older (and not in a bad way either- we were both just out of high school at the time, and I think she wanted to come off as more mature), and because it definitely irritated her parents. I also think she was a bit insecure about how she looked, which I could never understand because she was so pretty naturally. But then again, I’ve always struggled with deep insecurities about my own appearance, even though many people, throughout the years, have told me I’m naturally pretty, too. Self-image is such a tricky thing. Sometimes what we see in the mirror is not at all what reality reflects. With my loved ones who think I’m beautiful, I often wish I could see myself through their eyes. Maybe I’d love myself more.
I've seen so many people trying this on TT and they're always like "wait this looks so good" and I just simply don't believe them. Thank you for such an honest review of this technique.
The ONLY time I have come close to this amount of makeup on my face was during my dance performance days. I could and did use entire tins of pressed powerd foundation in single weekends. I was in multiple numbers and sometimes as much as 50% of the show. I was sweating a lot under the stage lights and powder quickly revived my look without needing a full makeup redo.
You are 100% right she absolutely does it for views, it’s how she made a name for herself. Cause there’s no way in hell it looks good on her irl either. No matter what your skin type is, your age or how well u prep your skin etc that amount of foundation will NEVER look good on anyone, and that’s the truth. No shade 😫
@@JenLion yeah probably because thats NOT how she does her makeup irl that's why 😂😭 Did you not watch the video till the end? soph's face with ALL that makeup on? No matter what ur Skin type is or how little texture you have every persons skin is gonna look cakey with that much makeup on it.
@@JenLion I'm sure Meredith does look very pretty in person but it's unlikely she could go out with that much foundation in person and not look like she spackled it on. It's likely she removes some or blots it off otherwise she would would look cakey and bad.
This is the perfect example of how makeup on film looks differently and is done differently then makeup for everyday. It actually looks great when you are back a ways from the camera, and I'd youbwere going to be performing on a stage somewhere this would look incredible from the audience. I wish more people realized the huge difference between film/stage & everyday makeup!
Meredith herself gets a ton of wrinkles (especially around her nose) when she makes any faces after all that make up. Every time I see her pop up, I think how much her makeup ages her.
Okay... AND?!!! You act like having wrinkles or getting wrinkles is a "bad thing"!!!! It's called aging.. and in this senseless and warped AZZ world we exist in today ( because most people aren't living, only existing); AGEING AND GROWING OLD,IS A PRIVILEGE AND WE NEED TO BE ALRIGHT WITH IT!! NORMALIZE, NORMAL SHYT!!
@@luiysia I’m 38, and I can confidently say her makeup makes *me* look younger, LOLOLOL. Did that even make sense? 😂 She’s so pretty naturally, particularly her skin, so it seems like an absolute shame for her to pile on so much makeup. And I say that as a lifelong makeup lover, too. I’m a firm believer in “less is more”, at least when it comes to your complexion makeup. Go wild with your eye makeup, or use a bold lip color, but keep the rest healthy and minimal.
Thank you so much for doing this experiment on your face with such dedication and honesty. I saw the Meredith video and I thought ?!?. Now that I’ve seen your recreation I totally agree - just a waste of product. Thank you for exploring this weird makeup trend.
In one of Merediths shorts/videos I remember she said she had dry skin and I was speechless. My dry skin can't even wear foundation, I don't think she knows what dry skin is 🤦🏼♀️
I think the idea behind it (other than the shock factor) is to like make a base all one color which will help your makeup look better. it seems similar to gesso in art.
Yasss thank God you did this, everyone was trying it but never doing close ups or just straight up using filters... Like what is even the point to test it out then lol, but you never fail us Soph 💜
Right, and they just do it be like “ok cool looks good!” But they don’t go anywhere, they don’t wear it out, they don’t talk about how heavy it feels, and they don’t blank out their lips like Meredith does lol.
I always think that Meredith is so beautiful...before she puts on makeup. Also, she must have huge hands 😄. Thank you Soph for mustering up the courage to replicate the 'routine' and still be super fun and charming. Who else but you ❤️!
Soph, can I just say that your sugar frosting highlighter collab gives rare beauty’s enlighten highlighter a run for its money. The darker shade in the palette is sooooo beautiful xx
Makes my skin crawl even just thinking about using that much product which says something because I was a teenager in the dream matte mouse and foundation lips era when flat and matte was it! Definitely took one for the team here!
Oh...I had that foundation. I actually was going through an old box of crap from my 20's and I found it. Yuck....I can't believe I I ever put that on my face 😆☺️
I finally realized, what this routine reminds me: stage makeup!😹 Just for a couple hours long performance and perfect to be seen from a v.e.r.y. long distance
I just did a stage make up the other day and I used 3-4 pumps of foundation. That was plenty. Even though your makeup needs to be visible enough from far away that doesn't mean you have to make it cakey, your base just needs to be even and contour defined enough.
Ugh thank you. I was seeing so many people do this and end up saying “ok but why does this look kinda good! Maybe Meredith is onto something” That amount of foundation is purely ridiculous, especially when she has near perfect skin.
1. Gives honest opinions of the technique used 2. Gives constructive yet KIND criticism on why it didn’t work for Soph, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad or won’t work for Meredith and others. And that it’s fine to make bank and get your views 🤷♀️ You are the sweetest ever Soph ❤️ loved this vid x
exactly !! and she definitely uses beauty filters for the ending shots. it’s all for the views. she most likely takes it all off afterwards too bc that much foundation would make anyone break out constantly.
Thank you for calling this out. Someone needed to do this a long time ago. So many people have argued with me about this so many times saying it makes your skin perfect blah blah 🤦♀️
I did this with the vitamin babe foundation, I didn't feel like mixing with other foundations. My base never looked so flawless! However it didn't last as well as when I use a normal amount, it looked cakey by the end of the day. It's a good technique to get a few nice selfies but I don't think I'd do it again. Maybe with a different foundation, the vitamin babe probs isn't the best foundation to do it with
Loved watching your reaction. Thank you. A couple of times in the past years ive tried makeup and your reactions are what i experience. I wash the makeup off immediately and can still feel the yuk. I wore makeup as a teen. I stopped using it at 19yo. Im 60. I have great skin. I think if i had kept using makeup all these years, my skin would be awful by now.
I don’t understand how to make my foundation NOT look like this, like I don’t do that routine, I barely use any, but it still always looks cakey and emphasizes ALL my face texture and fine lines. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong!!
Your skincare routine might need help then. You'll need exfoliation and double cleansing to address the texture. Then you use serums on wet skin and layer it with a moisturizer. Moisturizer should be according to your skin type. You'll need retinol/retinoid at night and SPF during the day to fix some of the fine lines and that will address the texture and overall appearance too. Using a *hydrating serum* and a appropriate moisturizer (maybe something thick like Embroylisse) underneath your foundation will help. Maybe the foundation isn't right for your skin type. Maybe switch your matte and full coverage foundation for a serum, dewy or satin finish foundation (Nars Light Reflecting, Haus Labs Tri-clone, The Ordinary Serum Foundation, Nars Sheer Glow, Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation, Loreal Tinted HA Serum, Rare Beauty Foundation etc.) Edit: Also maybe you're not using the correct primer. If you use a silicone based primer or sunscreen, then use a silicone based foundation. One can use a water based foundation (like Nars Lights Reflecting works with silicone sunscreen) too but make sure it's compatible with your primer/sunscreen and is not pilling.
Or try out a different kind of foundation? Do you know if yours is an oil based or water based foundation? I like my water based one a lot… I use Gabriel brand foundation…
Lol yeah I tried it 😂 it wasn’t the worst thing ever, like kind of cool to see full FULL coverage on me, but my eyes did sting and texture around the drier parts of my face looked sooo cakey. Perhaps Meredith is the one person in the world who can pull it off irl and if so kudos to her
I feel like if meredith doesn't take product off between takes, she MUST use like 5 damp beauty blenders to blend all that foundation and make it flawless, cause 1 sponge probably won't absorb all the makeup and it'll just end up putting more product back on
@@FluffishPuppyI'm pretty sure she takes makeup off between takes. there are always jump cuts where her makeup suddenly looks less crazy anymore. its obviously not real and just for views
This was a fun experiment and people are really playing with makeup which is lovely. I love how kind you are. Maybe Meredith would make a wonderful portrait artist (or her skin absorbs the kind of makeup she uses especially well.) Having said that I adore Lisa Eldridge for her beautiful and natural skin looks and just saw a video with next to no foundation by Kali Ledger which had me hypnotized - her celebration of natural skin was so stunning! Women used to look older decades ago because makeup was heavier and there are so many sheer beautiful products now. Everybody gets free will and to define who they are and diversity is wonderful but it’s always inspiring to see people who celebrate their authentic selves and natural beauty. And when young skin is beautiful at any age (with new baby cells being born throughout our lives) why not flaunt that? 🌸🦋✨
I've watched a lot of these makeup tutorials... And it looks like they are putting on so much make up.. Like a ton of it... And I know it would look crazy on me...
The crepe thing is why I don't use a lot of makeup. For some , I guess the amount I use would seem like a lot but it's just different products. 1 pump or 1 and 1/2 max , a dab of concealer in the inner and outer corner , a Lil on the sides of the nose, down the center and nasal labial areas. Contour on forehead, cheekbones, nose and chin, highlight on cheekbones and brows and down center of nose, blush, mascara, lipliner a shade darker than lips, sometimes gloss, brown shadow in creaseand lower lash, brow pencil and gel. Powder and spray.
I do. I have lots of freckles. I don’t use as much as she does. 3-4 pimps. And i use a full coverage thick foundation and add a lighter thinner foundation. And seriously damp beauty blender and blend for at least 10 mins or more. Ofc i use moisturizer rather than primer. I use a very light concealer. Then my blush. Very light powder and minimal light contour. It looks great. But remember all skin is different. All products are different to. What works for one might not work for another
Soph, I haven't finished watching the video, but I want to personally thank you for starting out with a not-perfectly-clean brush. I always feel so ashamed when I watch people using brushes that look brand new and clean enough to eat. You just made me feel sooo much better about my regular I-don't-have-the-time-to-clean-these-everyday brushes
Girl, ain't no one got time to clean their brushes after every time they do their makeup. If an influencer is saying they do, they are 1,000% lying. That or they don't have a life outside of their job. That would be the ONLY reason. Don't feel bad, you are completely normal. Now go have a snack, and have a great day!

THANK U! Finally someone who shows the results in REAL LIGHT. I've been saying this all the time and everyone shows the result in artificial light, of course it's gonna look great but in real life...
You're a star for doing this and showing the results without filters. The obsecene amount of products wasted! Goodness imagine if you're an expensive one how quickly you're going to use it up. Why not just throw money down the drain
This was an eye opener, I genuinely thought this might be one of them hacks that actually works but you was right about how it all meshs together and looks like a weird colour. Thank you so much for testing this and showing us up close xx
When I do a full face of foundation, I use two small pumps of full-to-medium coverage (mixing neutral and cool tones) and then a small 1/2 full dropper or two of skin tint to thin it out a bit. It seems to be just enough to give my face and neck natural coverage. Then I use a little less concealer than this, but still more than I should, mostly because I have DARK CIRCLES ⚫ ⚫ 🦝
Something you said that really caught my attention is you can't post a pic on TikTok because you'll get roasted on the comments. Which makes me really glad you can be yourself and post your actual face and makeup on TH-cam, because we're all kinder and respectful on TH-cam. Love you Soph and your videos! I used to cake on my foundation when I was younger but I prefer a lighter coverage nowadays ☺️ but whatever works for her I guess!
OMG takes me back to when I was so insecure and I just thought if I caked enough stuff on my face I'd hide everything I hated and be able to love myself but ended up looking so crusty then I'd go to no makeup because I thought I was to dumb to figure makeup out, ya the depression anxiety thought train is so much fun. I was not quite to this extreme but when you're starting out using makeup for all the wrong reasons and just don't understand less is more and it's about finding the right products to enhance you're already lovely skin and features rather than just caking more on trying to turn yourself into someone else thinking maybe that will make you lovable. Anyway not sure if that makes sense to anyone else. Also I've seen others mention it as well but it's just so wasteful who wants to spend all that money and not even wind up looking good for more than the minute or two after you apply it. There's no possible way to apply that much and not be a cakey crusty mess the moment you move your face or sweat or just exist as a human in any way.
Can I just say, your eyes stood out so beautifully against the golden of the foundation…also you temporarily looked like a bronze statue, like one of the mime people 😂 love you for trying these whacky things for us and making truely enjoyable content, we appreciate you 🥰
I did this, and it made me look older as well. It felt suffocating, and I instantly knew that it is just for clicks. She washes it off and doesn’t go out like that. I know she doesn’t.. The fact that she’s so good at it is actually amazing and impressive. But, not ideal. Not necessary either. She is blessed with perfect skin, and her “natural” makeup is better. Less is more. I’ve recently come to find that using makeup as an enhancement rather than a complete cover up is the trick. Thank you for your honesty.
I used to use this amount of foundation because I was embarrassed of my skin. I cannot believe I used to do this too. Thank God I started using tinted moisturizer and powder instead.
I think this trend is similar to trying out the scandalous L’Oréal mascara, everybody is trying it even tho we know it’s not magic 😅😅 loving you Soph for doing it ❤️

I would love to see Merediths makeup after 7 hours without a beauty filter on
I’m very good at makeup I use all good quality products and if I even put too much foundation on it will look like cakey crap after 6-7 hours lol there’s no way she doesn’t look crazy by the end of the day
She looks awful. It’s not even a question
Hahaha
it would jus simply look ugly
Right
This look reminds me a bit of stage makeup- at a distance it's really pretty but up close it has a garish effect. I was a ballet dancer growing up and I'd sometimes run into acquaintances right after a show... the look on their faces as they tried to process my 'look' was always priceless.
My dry skin was cringing the entire time watching this, thanks for taking one for the team and testing it for us instead Soph 🤣💖
Even my oily skin cringes when I see these videos haha
@@brandyfoster3734 she has oily skin but drier skin with makeup and dry patches without dry skin I believe
hahaha yeaaah my skin is DRY and flaky today 😂😂😂
@sophdoeslife I'm not bloody surprised Soph 😳 hope it hasn't flared your eczema up too! You're a saint for trying & can only imagine the bloody nightmare getting all those thick layers OFF your face after the effort it was putting it on!! Take care lovely x
I can't even get one pump of foundation to set enough on my oily skin so the powder doesn't make a PASTE (Ross voice) can't even imagine this much
I have used the finger hack with my normal amount of foundation.
I had to tell her that you don’t use that much.
hahaha fair enough 😂
I have painted portraits witr houseu h acrylics and oils for a long time. I learned makeup application through my l knowledge of fine art. And with both actual canvases and the face as a canvas, there is only so much room you have to blend a product out. If she was bald, there still wouldn’t be enough room to blend out anof the products she slathers on her face. She isn’t the Queen of Blending…she simply cuts away to take away the excess product. Claiming she doesn’t i edit before showing a final product, and that she doesn’t wipe away excess doesn’t make her a Queen of anything but FIBS!
word hahaha
@@brandybunting7258 I've never even seen a TikTok (unless it's a bit here and there on TH-cam) and know it's garbage. As soon as someone mentions 'they say on TikTok', I know it's untrue and most likely stupid. 😂
I have only one positive thing to say about you recreating Meredith's TT look. It makes your blue eyes pop more than they normally do.
She does it for the video then redoes her makeup to fake it blended all out
Maybe she’s mildly agoraphobic? Sounds like a perfect sabotage to enable yourself into having to go back after 1 hour
Imagine this lots of foundation on your face on a warm, sunny day... and i can´t imagine removing all this stuff at the end of the day.
It is insane how much older this much makeup makes people look
I would kill to see Meredith in person, there’s no way she doesn’t take it off and do her face with a normal amount and seeing her in person would be a dead give away
And this is what I call “cake face.” Or, “American kabuki makeup.” 😂
I had a friend, many years ago, who would do her makeup in very similar, *heavy handed* fashion. I let her do my makeup once before we went out somewhere, and it felt like a mask the entire night. I was hyper self-conscious about it, too. Didn’t help that her dad made fun of me before we left. 🙄
Safe to say that was the only time I let her do my makeup, lol.
No shade 😫
I have seen Meredith many times she does look flawless in person as well
@@JenLion she probably only does this routine for video and not real life. So she can get the views lol.
@@DeniseMedina no, she doesn't
@@JenLion yeah probably because thats NOT how she does her makeup irl that's why 😂😭
Did you not watch the video till the end? soph's face with ALL that makeup on?
NORMALIZE, NORMAL SHYT!!
she's 23 and it makes her look 38 hahahahah
@@luiysia I’m 38, and I can confidently say her makeup makes *me* look younger, LOLOLOL. Did that even make sense? 😂
She’s so pretty naturally, particularly her skin, so it seems like an absolute shame for her to pile on so much makeup. And I say that as a lifelong makeup lover, too.
I’m a firm believer in “less is more”, at least when it comes to your complexion makeup. Go wild with your eye makeup, or use a bold lip color, but keep the rest healthy and minimal.
Yeah her nose low key made me sad bc I watched how it changed from normal to old with the caked on makeup.. she’s so beautiful without it too
Not only that, she gets way less feminine too, looking like a drag queen
Thank you so much for doing this experiment on your face with such dedication and honesty. I saw the Meredith video and I thought ?!?. Now that I’ve seen your recreation I totally agree - just a waste of product. Thank you for exploring this weird makeup trend.
Oh my oh my my dry skin would never recover from this, am I interested in your thoughts regardless… absolutely! Happy Tuesday all 💕
ngl it ruined my skin trying to get it all off 😂😭 thanks for watching!❤
@@sophdoeslife Soph coming through doing the thing so we don’t have too 😂😂
@@sophdoeslife awe bless you noooo 😭
In one of Merediths shorts/videos I remember she said she had dry skin and I was speechless. My dry skin can't even wear foundation, I don't think she knows what dry skin is 🤦🏼♀️
@@x-starlight-x try glossier , my dry skin loves it and it looks dewy. Coverage isn’t great but it does even tone
Right? And they're always like "Oh my God it actually looks so good!!" When you know there's no way it could actually look good in real life. 😂
Right, and they just do it be like “ok cool looks good!” But they don’t go anywhere, they don’t wear it out, they don’t talk about how heavy it feels, and they don’t blank out their lips like Meredith does lol.
It’s a tinted spf moisturizer, mascara, and clear lip glass for me.
I always think that Meredith is so beautiful...before she puts on makeup. Also, she must have huge hands 😄. Thank you Soph for mustering up the courage to replicate the 'routine' and still be super fun and charming. Who else but you ❤️!
She is really beautiful! thank you 🥰
Even watching this makes me want to start my night skin routine early
Meredith is the reason I have trust issues
Fr 💀
Love this 🤣👏👏
Soph, can I just say that your sugar frosting highlighter collab gives rare beauty’s enlighten highlighter a run for its money. The darker shade in the palette is sooooo beautiful xx
We did our makeup like that in the early 2000s with a way too dark shade and there is a reason why nobody does that anymore 😬
shout out to meredith for finding a make up routine she liked in 2014 and never, EVER changing it.
Makes my skin crawl even just thinking about using that much product which says something because I was a teenager in the dream matte mouse and foundation lips era when flat and matte was it! Definitely took one for the team here!
I was thinking the same!
Ahh good old dream matte mouse 😂 that foundation was the worst back in the day
Oh...I had that foundation. I actually was going through an old box of crap from my 20's and I found it. Yuck....I can't believe I I ever put that on my face 😆☺️
On a brighter note, that lip colour looks stunning on you!
I finally realized, what this routine reminds me: stage makeup!😹
Just for a couple hours long performance and perfect to be seen from a v.e.r.y. long distance
Or fishy drag makeup.
@@ambergerhelper7852 drag makeup IS stage makeup!
@@CloudslnMyCoffee Indeed.
Yes! I was flashing back to smearing Ben Nye Cream Base on my pimply teenage face every night of the school musicals...
I couldn't stop cracking up at this and I had a pretty crappy day. Thank you for this :)
1. Gives honest opinions of the technique used
2. Gives constructive yet KIND criticism on why it didn’t work for Soph, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad or won’t work for Meredith and others. And that it’s fine to make bank and get your views 🤷♀️
You are the sweetest ever Soph ❤️ loved this vid x
Your eye color is insanely beautiful omg
I think she wipes it off or changes the products between transitions! There’s no way that contour blended into that 😂!
100%
I’m sure that’s why it’s on TikTok, not TH-cam. 👍🏻 I’m too old for that bs.
Love that Soph is trying it, though!
Yes she definitely does that
exactly !! and she definitely uses beauty filters for the ending shots. it’s all for the views. she most likely takes it all off afterwards too bc that much foundation would make anyone break out constantly.
I literally said that same thing lol
to be honest outside and inside it actually looks really good and 10 times better than i’ve ever done
Maybe with a different foundation, the vitamin babe probs isn't the best foundation to do it with
Can I just say the fringe really suits you , it makes you look like Sabrina carpenter ❤❤
aw thanks! 😊
Omg it does! ❤️
Every time I see Soph she reminds me of Sabrina tbh
That was my first thought, even I started watching your videos. You give big Sabrina Carpenter vibes.
I use a serum foundation like Dior backstage that goes on much lighter. I probably could do with full coverage but my skin texture says no.
Do you have a skincare routine and use the correct products for your skin type?
Do you have dry type skin or dry patches? X
Maybe switch your matte and full coverage foundation for a serum, dewy or satin finish foundation (Nars Light Reflecting, Haus Labs Tri-clone, The Ordinary Serum Foundation, Nars Sheer Glow, Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation, Loreal Tinted HA Serum, Rare Beauty Foundation etc.)
Edit: Also maybe you're not using the correct primer.
THANK YOU for the expose! I subbed to your channel for being so brave by poring foundation on your face.
Lol yeah I tried it 😂 it wasn’t the worst thing ever, like kind of cool to see full FULL coverage on me, but my eyes did sting and texture around the drier parts of my face looked sooo cakey. Perhaps Meredith is the one person in the world who can pull it off irl and if so kudos to her
I’m so glad you had the same experience as me 😂 yeah maybe it does work for her!!
I cried when you said you looked like the peanut butter baby I'm still laughing typing this. I love you so much you are so funny.
I've watched a lot of these makeup tutorials... And it looks like they are putting on so much make up.. Like a ton of it... And I know it would look crazy on me...
This is unrelated; but thank you for being so genuine since day one! Love you Soph❤️
The crepe thing is why I don't use a lot of makeup. For some , I guess the amount I use would seem like a lot but it's just different products. 1 pump or 1 and 1/2 max , a dab of
concealer in the inner and outer corner , a Lil on the sides of the nose, down the center and nasal labial areas. Contour on forehead, cheekbones, nose and chin, highlight on cheekbones and brows and down center of nose, blush, mascara, lipliner a shade darker than lips, sometimes gloss, brown shadow in creaseand lower lash, brow pencil and gel. Powder and spray.
🫣🙄😲 the things you do for us Soph...my skin cried a little for yours after the 500th layer of foundation 🥺😂
What works for one might not work for another
Omg you could have done an M to the B reel with it 😭 looking forward to seeing your usual routine soon!! X
You’re the first person I’ve seen do this & be Honest! 👏
@@zenmaster9195 Thank you so much for saying this! Yeah, I wash my brushes when I both have time AND my back doesn't hurt which is... way less often than I'd like :D

I honestly feel like the only way she could possibly pull that off is by dermablading her face to get rid of all the peach fuzz.

It actually looked really nice in the natural daylight! You have lovely skin though and it didn’t look bad at all 😊
I thought so too! I was like where does it look bad at ? I couldn’t see it :( maybe I’m bad at makeup 😂but I thought she looked great still
Nah fam, it looked cakey af, it looked like clown makeup
I used to use this amount of foundation because I was embarrassed of my skin. I cannot believe I used to do this too. Thank God I started using tinted moisturizer and powder instead.
