Saw this on Great Performances, the San Francisco Ballet, I think. I have never been so moved by a ballet in every aspect. I can't wait until I can see it again.
Highly interesting! First of all the musical score by Auerbach with a style reminiscent of Schnittke, Henze and Shostakovitch. Second: the delightful dancing inscribed in the great 'classical-modern' tradition of 'Les Ballets Russes'. Beautiful! Hope to see this live one time...

Is it just me or is there a HUGE plot twist in the ballet? I haven't seen it yet but it looks awesome.
