OMG!!!!! What a masterful performance!!! A time in history when we believed anything was possible! The Electric Light Orchestra was either Greatly Loved or Severely criticized for doing what many other bands had attempted to do so well! That is merge the classical with the rock and rollia and create this fantastically energized, melodic magic in our musical history! I am so grateful for Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne for their commitment to making this all come true for all of us children in the light out there! But especially, I would like to credit to the MOVE! For if not for this band, we would not be here, listening to ELO now!
I absolutely love The MOVE, in every incarnation-from the beginning with Roy, Bev, Trevor, Ace and Carl, right through to the end when it was just Roy, Bev and Jeff! I so miss Carl… he did record a couple of tracks with ELO around 1973 that were pretty good.
Q was God not.here? I think God came first, He said let there be light. B. Franklin born so much later. He flew a kite mentholated tobacco. Then we learned to throw rocks & poop. Lee Modlin Hey , that's not being a jerk friend, actually, we are both correct. It is in fact Mike in the beginning, but later in the video, Kelly is on bass. On Evil woman, no two ways about it, that's Kelly on bass, and that's the clip I was watching when I made my original post.
Few pop groups have the musical talent needed to reproduce their recordings live, ELO was top shelf which is quite impressive considering the style akin to symphonic related construction . I saw them in San Francisco in 1973 and I came away thinking this band is bordering on the level of classically trained musicians. John Lennon was asked if the Beatles were to start up again, who would they most sound like, which with little hesitation replied " probably ELO",
I got to see them at the Free Trade Hall in 76 in Manchester, there was an old couple in front of us in the next row and I heard one of them say "I thought it was an Orchestra" I laughed my head off that day.
I'm only 58 but I do appreciate fine music! I have always been a classical music fan and a classic rock fan. And I love it when the two are melded as we have with ELO!

ELO one of the most underrated bands of all time. Yet I attended a concert in 2017 and it was great to see some young folks truly enjoying the music. 50 years after this concert and still rocking! ✌
Thank you so much for this! I can’t tell you how elated I am to has stumbled on to this film. I have been a huge fan of ELO, having seen them play live in Montreal on three occasions. This is priceless!
What I love about this - all of this is a pretty good production, but what REALLY makes it is the performance of each individual who was a part of it. Post production and pre-recorded material (as far as I know, anyway) were not to credit for the quality of these performances. This was about well written and well performed material by people who genuinely cared about what they were doing.
Two top notch performances. Something about ELO I have always noticed live, Their live performances were flawless. Not one bad note. Such an impressive band. especially early on.
Great vintage ELO! Thank you. I was lucky to see them live in Montreal in 1974, 1975 and 1975. Pretty rare to see Jeff Lynn's eyes. Since 1975 he has always worn sunglasses; somewhat like Roy Orbison, although Orbison had badly crossed eyes.
I remember one of those Montreal concerts in 1975 - my first concert ever. The Fire dept was getting grumpy with people who kept lighting rolls of toilet paper afire and tossing them up&over the rafters, for a visual effect. The usual cease and desist announcements did no good of course. The Jeff Lynne stopped in mid-song and said that if it happened again, they (the band) was leaving. Not so much as a lighter in sight after that
One of the greatest bands ever to grace a stage. Will be in attendance in PHX 10/21 for their final tour. It will be the 3rd time to see them. I'm 68 and will never stop rocking !!!
I hadn’t seen the “Face the Music” era footage before. It would have blown my mind back when I was first really getting into this band. I wish this lineup making this music could have lasted forever.
Jeff Lynn w/ ELO will be visiting the USA in Chula Vista, CA on 11/12/2023. For VETSAID 2023. His first live show anywhere since 2019. I am so excited to see him and his band. I will be there taking it all in.
