One of my favorite college memories was watching this with two huge football players, OL guys. One dude loved the movie and wanted to watch it. The other guy said he never saw it and thought it sucked. Dude 2 couldn't stop himself from humming along at first. Then the two of them were singing every song. It was hilarious. Dude 2 had to admit he loves the movie and had memorized every line.
Love Grease!!!! It’s a laugh a minute with very risqué, hilarious lines that goes right over the heads of younger viewers, making it a great family movie. I’ve lost track of the numbers of times I’ve watched it. It’s great. ❤
Grease is just one giant load of cheesy fun - with the world's best soundtrack attached to it. (Eddie and the Cruisers is the other one. On the Dark Side, Tender Years, Hang up my Rock 'n Roll Shoes, Seasons in Hell are ALL gold).
My daughter is 15. One of the proudest days I had was when she came to me and started telling me about Grease and loved it because she had watched it with her friends. But disappointed because I had tried to get her to watch it! Lol.😂❤
Lol I was dancing along with you Tasha. 😂 and I’m sure there’s probably more girls who are fans of the movie just for the fact that there’s a romance element, but it’s definitely not a chick flick. I think it’s hard to judge what the movie will be like by just the songs. But I gotta say I’m not sure how you got chick flick from this song. lol. But it’s definitely worth the watch! At the very least, a lot of pop culture references are made from this movie so I think you’d enjoy learning where they come from. Also I just have to say, I first saw this movie when I was like 8 years old and I loved it so much! But I didn’t see it again until HS when the anniversary dvd released and I could not believe how raunchy and inappropriate it was. 😂😂 It had all flown right over my head.
I was 14 when "Grease" came out and my friends and I couldn't get enough of it. We had played the hell out of the album and would act out the songs. I remember listening to the lyrics to this song and thinking, "Wow, they allowed them to actually SING this song with lyrics like this?" lol But, yes, a fun, fun movie. And I remember the boys in my school liked it too. : )
I was just listening to some of your country reactions and noticed y'all talking about duets between Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. Since it's the season and all, y'all should check out some of their classic Christmas duets. Way back in 1984 they did a t.v. Christmas special and recorded a studio album to go with it. The album is called "A Christmas to Remember" and has really amazing modern classics like "I'll Be Home With Bells On" and "I Believe in Santa Claus." While I'm at it, check out Alabama's classic Christmas album, "Christmas in Dixie," and Kenny Rogers' Christmas album "The Gift." LOTS of really great songs on those.
I get your hesitancy, but you’ll enjoy it. I used to live a couple of blocks from the high school where they filmed it (Venice High). Neat to walk around the “set” 😎
As the only boy with 23 girl cousins I saw this with 6 of them when it came out and within 6 months they taught me to dance to the entire movie we would put on shows for the entire family later on I found that the girls loved a guy that could dance and have fun. Thanks John and my crazy cousins .
Yep have three sister growing up...yep seen Grease a few times to say the least, however, watch it for Olivia is a good enough reason (RIP). The movie grows on you though.
There is another reaction couple that I watch. The husband was not feeling the idea of watching the movie. He only gave in because of the subscribers. He too thought of it as a chick flick. That man ended up loving every inch of the movie. It is now one of his favorites. He loved the music and the storyline. And he loved knowing the context of the songs. Watch the movie for your channel, with edits of course. You will love it! Then go watch his reaction on Rob Squad Reactions. His wife was ever so happy that finally agreed to watch it, and came out understanding her love for the movie.
Miss Tasha, your reaction was absolutely delightful. It was so fun to watch you sing along and do the choreography, I had to watch it again. Fyi...I stumbled across your channel yesterday and have subscribed. I look forward to more and working my way through your collection. Blessings Mark K aka midnightmusicfan
So fab! How are you going to get through so many recordings from the films of the 50s and 60s? P.s. Don't know how long you guys have been together but I think the music is getting you guys closer..aw! Here's some films for music: That'll Be the Day, A Hard Day's Night, Help, The Buddy Holly Story, The Kids Are All Right, The Rutles, Rock Star (that's 80s era though), That Thing You Do, Sister Act, The Lost Boys, The Doors. Living in the Material World.
Lost count of the number of times I went to see this in the cinema when it came out during school summer holidays,I think it may have been 10 or 11 times, but going to the cinema was a lot cheaper back then.
It's "Greased lightning". And no, it's not necessarily a chick-flick. It's the movie adaptation of the theater musical of the same name. I think I watched this movie about eight times in the theater when it came out, and know the words to all the songs. Didn't make me any less of a man, I'm a retired Marine, so go watch the movie and leave your preconceptions at home. Rest in peace, Olivia Newton-John... like ABBA, said, thank you for the music.
My grandad copied this on VHS for me and my sister when we were like 5 and 6. He cut out all the adult themes, and my sister and I thought this song was half as long as it was for many years, lol.
I get it T, but this is my male guilty pleasure. I think this movie is cool, especially all the great songs across the board. Theater musical/theatrical movie classic. Go have a good time with mama watching it. Take care guys.
I've got a couple for you from the same movie "Paint Your Wagon". The first is "Mariah", the second is sung by a recent favorite actor of yours, a younger Clint Eastwood singing "Gold Fever".
The movie Grease was first a play on Broadway so the music was written in the 50’s style. I’m 50/50 on whether it’s a chick flick. The show, however, was not just for girls. 😄✌️
I'd like to see your reaction to Carly Simon's first hit song "That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be' from 1971. Thank you. I enjoy the channel.
This is the second time in a week I've flashed back to my senior year of high school, performing in Grease in drama club. Our performance of Greased Lightning wasn't nearly as good as this one. Much more censored, too.
I have a wacky suggestion that I would LOVE to see your all's reaction to: "Dancin'" from the movie Xanadu. I guarantee you'll be looking at the monitor like, "WTF?"
NO the MOVIE does NOT CATER to girls!!! Are you kidding?? The most fun was when the movie came back in the theaters as a sing-a-long (the words to all the songs are printed at the bottom of the movie, and everyone in the theater sang out loud along with the movie, and doing motions that the actors were doing in the film. They did the same thing for the movie "Mama Mia" when it came back to the theaters. I HOPE he watches it with you Tasha!
Grease was made in the 70's, but was based on the 50's. Back when school's actually taught life skills. They stopped that after I left school. That's how we got millennials.
*The movie caters to girls?.....lol. It was the coolest movie when it came out. You're missing out if you don't watch it. It is one of the iconic movies of JT along with him doing Saturday Nigh Fever & Urban Cowboy that came out back to back*
I saw this at a drive in when i was about five or six, has remained a favorite, and unlike te crtics I did like Grease 2. If you so't compare it to the first ne and see it more a a stand alone rather tan a seuel it isn't bad. May be the only one who nticed Didi Conn (Frenchy) disappeared halfway through.
What's always confused me about Grease. It comes across as so wholesome, just a bunch of teens trying to navigate their way through high school, but when you listen to the lyrics of this song, it's absolutely filthy. 😂 *some other great movie songs; Anything by "Eddie and the Cruisers". (Aka; John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown band.). I'd recommend "Garden of Eden" "Mariya" or "Some like it hot". All great bangers.
Great movie. Not a chick flick but I get it. John Travolta and Olivia Newton John ; can't go wrong with that combo. I wasn't aware they no longer had shop and home ec. I graduated in 1982. I know that was a long time ago. I guess computer classes must have taken those slots.
I was 15 when this movie came out, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In what reality is this a chick flick? Smh. I was raised on pub rock in Australia but the music in Grease was genius. Great memories.
Grease came out when I was in high school. I wouldn’t call it a complete chick flick. The girls certainly enjoyed it but there’s plenty of guy stuff in it too. Especially Olivia Newton John at the end.
I would love to see your reaction to one of the greatest of his time, Roy Clark. This clip comes from the original Odd Couple television show: th-cam.com/video/-xssnp7R51A/w-d-xo.html

I loved the fact that you knew the choreography of the song 💜
No she didn't - I was just thinking what a mess she was making of it
1978. I was a whole 19 when I went to the theatre to see this. Great tunes a real cool movie. Great selection y'all. 🤟🤟
Grease is just one giant load of cheesy fun - with the world's best soundtrack attached to it. (Eddie and the Cruisers is the other one. On the Dark Side, Tender Years, Hang up my Rock 'n Roll Shoes, Seasons in Hell are ALL gold).

I saw this film in the cinema when I was a little kid. Rizzo's song is my favourite from the film. I also like Beauty School Dropout - Frankie Avalon.
I still have Rizzo's song on my mp3 player.
When Frankie says to get off the pot - rizzos expression kills me
I got the record of the soundtrack from Grease in 6th or 7th grade….for my bday. 🤗❤️🇺🇸

I've seen Grease a ton in my life. Grease has something for everyone. I don't want to spoil anything. So you'll have to watch it to see.
I get your hesitancy, but you’ll enjoy it. I used to live a couple of blocks from the high school where they filmed it (Venice High). Neat to walk around the “set” 😎
Tasha’s so cute rockin’ out to This song! Love the moves!❤😂
As the only boy with 23 girl cousins I saw this with 6 of them when it came out and within 6 months they taught me to dance to the entire movie we would put on shows for the entire family later on I found that the girls loved a guy that could dance and have fun. Thanks John and my crazy cousins .
I saw the musical on stage....what back!!! Movies great!!!
As a 51 year old dude who hates musicals, i love grease!! Give it a try
Yep have three sister growing up...yep seen Grease a few times to say the least, however, watch it for Olivia is a good enough reason (RIP). The movie grows on you though.
One of favorite movies.

You all need to check out the lyric’s. 🤣🤣
I think I missed them for about 20 years! 😲😆
probably wouldn't get by the censors today
Yeah, I never understood the lyrics till here recently either. Always heard the song, never knew…🤣
Miss Tasha, your reaction was absolutely delightful. It was so fun to watch you sing along and do the choreography, I had to watch it again.

Enjoy watching you guys.
You two have the best chemistry
Grease was standard Movie day entertainment in High School Choir, it would always be played when we were done with the Quarterly Concert
One of my favorites!!!!
I still love this song from the movies -- "Xanadu" by Olivia Newton-John
It's "Greased lightning".
And no, it's not necessarily a chick-flick.
It's the movie adaptation of the theater musical of the same name. I think I watched this movie about eight times in the theater when it came out, and know the words to all the songs. Lol! Hearing that song, what they were singing about, and you think “well, that seems like it caters to girls.” 😂
My grandad copied this on VHS for me and my sister when we were like 5 and 6. He cut out all the adult themes, and my sister and I thought this song was half as long as it was for many years, lol.
A great movie, and if T makes it to the fairground number, he'll know it was worth the wait.
I named my roller skates Greased Lightning back in the 80s🤣😂🤣😂
Grease is a fun movie. The music is great.

There’s lots of naughty guy talk in this flick! The dancing in the streets scene from Fame is great with Irene Cara who passed this year.
I'm surprised this version was released on U TUBE. The sensors made them change two words or they weren't going to release the movie.
You keep working on him, Tasha. You almost have him there. You two are funny as hell 🤣👍😊.
Gotta check out Elvis in his films...sings in every one!!😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Classic, and if you can get to the end of the film, it's worth it for men 👍
Ok now ya'll have to watch Grease, uncut version!
Let me know what you think
Grease is a great movie.
Remember seeing this in the drive thru, sitting in lawn chairs
When people really hear the lyrics is always good
I'd like to see your reaction to Carly Simon's first hit song "That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be' from 1971. Thank you. I enjoy the channel.
I have watch all your Megadeth videos by now and love them but i have some songs for u. Millenium of the blind is amazing
Something tells me Tasha has seen this before.
Oh you got the movie version the dirty one
Watch 1 and 2. They're both fun
This is the second time in a week I've flashed back to my senior year of high school, performing in Grease in drama club. Our performance of Greased Lightning wasn't nearly as good as this one. Much more censored, too.
It's impossible to listen to this song without doing the dance moves!
I have a wacky suggestion that I would LOVE to see your all's reaction to: "Dancin'" from the movie Xanadu. I guarantee you'll be looking at the monitor like, "WTF?"
favourite movie
70’s you should do Saturday night fever w/John Travolta. Then for 80’s you should do Staying Alive w/John Travolta
It is not a Chick Flick. It is cool and really entertaining.
NO the MOVIE does NOT CATER to girls!!! Are you kidding?? As a kid in the 70s I want allowed to listen to this song because of how dirty it was.
❤️❤️❤️
You do have to listen for it, but the song is "Greased Lightning".
Go back and read the back story on this song it will blow your mind.
I'm not into chick flicks but this is one of the few musicals I can watch. It's worth a look.
What is a “chick flick”?
Grease was made in the 70's, but was based on the 50's. Back when school's actually taught life skills. They stopped that after I left school. That's how we got millennials.
Im happy I watched this as a kid, you can’t ever evvveeerrr beat the classics.
There’s a I think reboot on Netflix witch is stupid to make.
Tie that man down, glue his eyelids open, and make him watch Grease!
O my gob grease. I am from Panama city 🙄🤔😚😁👌💞💞💞🇵🇦
Classic
Please consider songs from my 3 favorite movies (Grease is probably #4): Fame, Flashdance, and Footloose.
*The movie caters to girls?.....lol. It was the coolest movie when it came out. You're missing out if you don't watch it. It is one of the iconic movies of JT along with him doing Saturday Nigh Fever & Urban Cowboy that came out back to back*
Remember Me This Way from the 1995 movie Casper

Love John Cafferty. The movies are fantastic. Another to watch 1 and 2
Rec: All the songs from "Fiddler On The Roof"
Hi guys, how about 'All Over the World' by ELO from the movie Xanadu? Not a great movie but it has a pretty good soundtrack.
Great movie. Not a chick flick but I get it. John Travolta and Olivia Newton John ; can't go wrong with that combo. I wasn't aware they no longer had shop and home ec. I graduated in 1982. I know that was a long time ago. I guess computer classes must have taken those slots.
Great reaction. Its not just a movie for the girls, check it out, I think you will like it
You should listen to Grease by Frankie Valley
Where's the Funk & Soul?
Curtis Mayfield- Superfly ( 73)
Title track from the groundbreaking soundtrack.
Grease is from 1976, but based on the early 60s.
Do West-Side movie songs!! From the original.
Wells Fargo wagon from “the music man”.
Yeah idk why people thought it was a chick flick maybe cause all the singing idk Its one of my favorite movies
#TNT check out "east bound and down" from Smokey and the Bandit.
Cool !!!
No dude, it's a great movie, you really should check it out.
Hey y'all
Hey, Michelle!!!!
Never have I seen guys working on a car do that.
I don’t think T caught some of the lyrics because he didn’t react to the explicit parts. 😜
You've gotta watch the movie T it's a classic, but yes it's a chick flick 😂
I was 15 when this movie came out, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In what reality is this a chick flick? Smh. I was raised on pub rock in Australia but the music in Grease was genius. Great memories.
T the movie is definitely Corny, but in the best way ✌️
He’s literally singing about how the car is a p*ssy wagon ( that’s not just a girl flick). Lol
"Greased" lightning
Grease came out when I was in high school. I wouldn’t call it a complete chick flick. The girls certainly enjoyed it but there’s plenty of guy stuff in it too. Especially Olivia Newton John at the end.

Pure Americana
