I think the setup is pretty cumbersome with a couple of quirks that you always have to remember how to troubleshoot and then what you get is paraphony which I am not that impressed with honestly. I was probably expecting too much and I don't really use it @@G.Man-
I use the MidiVolts to give me extra CC to CV channels. I have a Roland AE-30 wind synth and I use it to control my Behringer Neutron. The Neutron is very wind synth friendly - Breath is handled by the Assign function as aftertouch, it handles legato correctly, and there's no dead-spot in the middle of the pitch bend (essential for lip vibrato). I wish they'd put that converter in a module because Behringer's MIDI to CV converter module doesn't appear to feature the Assign output which is a fundamental requirement in this use. The MidiVolts gives me additional CVs for the AE's motion controls (elevation and tilt) and for the pressure sensitive thumb pad. Generally I use motion to control the filter cutoff and resonance, and the thumb pad to control LFO frequency. I don't use the MidiVolts' MIDI Note to CV channel because it's not as compatible as the Neutron.
Hey I really love this video! I had one of these for a while, but then I ended up with the dsi pro 2 which is a 4 voice paraphonic synth, so I traded it for a delay pedal. Now that my eurorack setup is growing, I might get it again (but the eurorack version). Great videos, keep it up!
Try again. I just heard of them and didn’t have an issue. But it know they are all hand made so it takes a minute when they sell out. Thanks for watching!
It does a lot as a device. But what Its basically doing is taking all of the synths voices, and allowing them to be played at the same time on different pitches. Don’t worry, it’s confusing. Haha.
I think the ms 20 has 2 oscillators so my thought is you could run it duophonically. That would sound pretty cool. If you reach out to space brain, I’m sure they’d be able to give a more definitive answer. Thanks for watching.
Thanks! Haha ya. I was trying to figure out a word that would be between grandmother and matriarch but couldn’t think of something that fit. Thanks for watching.
thanks for offering a balanced and honest review - I own both GM and MidiVolt and will give it another go now :)
You’re welcome. I appreciate you watching. You should definitely keep at it because once you get it working right it’s really fun.
@fischek Have you given it anotherbo yet, & if so, how you finding it?

@@fischek Ok, fair enough, thanks for your insight

That’s a really cool use case. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. And ya it’s an awesome little device. And the guy who makes them is super nice. I want the eurorack version now as well.
I knew of the MidiVolts a couple of years ago, tried to get one but had sold out

I don't understand what is it. Too specific for someone who has no experience with modulars, like me 😅

@@amberelmmusic hehe ok, got it 👍
will this work on a korg ms-20 mini as well?

How about the Korg Arp Odyssey?
so you made a somewhat Matriarch? :D Sounds delicios
