Gen X here as well. I saw GVF back in 2019 at The Joint at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas. Phenomenal live band. Their music is the epitome of arena rock. All are very talented musicians. It is always a concern that they may have to cancel. I will be traveling to Niagara Falls, Ontario from the Midwest to see them in August. Very much looking forward to it. Noticed they had a rough set at Jazz Fest in New Orleans but it was hot as heck at sn outdoor venue so I am sure that affected Josh's vocals. Mirador has been a pleasant surprise. I wasn't aware Jake had a side project in the works. Glad you enjoyed the tour opener.
I was there last night with my girlfriend in the pit on crowd right leaning up against the fence! And it was an AWESOME night! These guys are absolutely unbelievable! And so insanely amazing live! Anyone who hasn’t had the chance to see these guys live, you need to! They will blow your socks off!!
As a senior, I also recall those older legend bands. Greta sort of reminds me of how Queen, would consider how their audience in large venues could participate or hear the songs that they created. Freddie Mercury wrote songs for those stadium performances and his "cat suits" were special in their early days.
I just saw GVF on 5/1/2024 at Walmart Amp in Rogers, AR . Mirador was very good. Geese came on next and I thought they were strange . My husband’s comment about Geese was, “that band would have been a lot better if that guy wouldn’t have sung”. GVF was fantastic . I thoroughly enjoyed all of the solos . I do think that they need to give Josh an intermission because he had to have been exhausted !
Josh works with his voice coach Ron Browning, but unforeseen things could arise. Even Adele had to have surgery a few years back to treat a vocal cord.

Nice review. I LOVE GVF I saw them back in august my favorite band🤘🏼 they are crazy good live I hope to see them sometime soon again.
Next month in Grand Rapids seeing the guys for the 6th time.

And if Josh has to rest his voice so much, should we be worried about his singing longevity.

He had surgery on his vocal chords with the last couple years I believe. Hopefully it keeps holding up cause last time I saw them it was great
