The person that made the music composition for the troopers this year has clearly never touched a trumpet before because 7:24 is genuinely so difficult to play and it’s repeated…. Interesting choice troopers, can’t wait to hear it :) and also amazing composition
the lead part is actually harder than transcribed here. a lot of the double tonguing runs are full measures without missing eighth rests and things. also there’s rarely chromatic stuff. most of the fingerings suck at tempo.
also once the full brass enters in the ballad we’re playing the whole time. upper leads end up on a high E for an insufferable amount of time. I hate my life.
