Friends have just returned from 3 months in Tassie and have said next year when we collect our new AOR van they would come for another 3 months as there is just so much to explore via hiking, riding and kayaking. I recently pulled the pin from my career and let me say you are never too young to retire, it is usually fear of the unknown and you need to remember on average you only have 1000 weeks of life after 60 statistically and no matter the amount of cash you have, time and health cannot be bought! 🎉🎉🎉 Enjoy and cherish these moments together … ✅✅❤️❤️
Hi Tony. 3 months would be terrific for sure. We weighed up what those who are still working might also be able to afford to come up with the six week suggestion as the compromise between the cost of the Spirit and having enough time to do the top sights. But as you say if you can afford more time 3 months would be terrific - and also let you chase the weather a bit more as well. I think we will work in some form for a few years yet but we are loving our gap year. AOR have a good name as well and offer a particular niche. It was one of our final 5 contenders when we chose. All the best and thanks for watching and the comments - we love it👍❤️🙏🙏🙏
My tip is be careful on the roads with overseas tourists - had a number of close calls with rental cars on the wrong side of the road, cutting corners and people not paying attention!
Yep. In some locations like Freycinet they have reminder signs to drive on the left. Same same around the Great Ocean Road region. I noticed a lot of locals tended to drive right on the centre line as well. For my Tassie friends - is that a thing?
Great tip! I have a very good friend who now lives in Tassie, she put together an itinerary for us when we went. Her biggest tip was to watch out for overseas tourists on the wrong side of the road…we had no issues thankfully!
Excellent thank you both.
Thank you for watching and the feedback. We love the interaction.
